Question
Familiar 48 Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I love you or so she says
As she stops her thoughts and turns her head
I guess I am not supposed to care
Well I'm no good, I don't belong
I don't know how I made it this far along
I should not be here today

And she falls down trying
Yeah she falls down crying
And she tells me that she does it all for me

When the clouds come and the rain falls
When there's nothing here to hold on
Will I be there is the question from you

Well, understood, so afraid
As I stop myself and throw my thoughts away
I will not apologize, no, no

And she falls down trying
Yeah she falls down crying
And she tells me that she does it all for me

When the clouds come and the rain falls
When there's nothing here to hold on
Will I be there is the question from you

When you look to me, you know I will be there
And I hold on to the feelings we both share
No, I won't let go, I'll catch if you fall

When the clouds come and the rain falls
When there's nothing here to hold on
Will I be there is the question from you

When the clouds come and the rain falls

When there's nothing here to hold on
Will I be there, is the question for me

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Familiar 48's song 'The Question' seem to be about a turbulent relationship between two people. The singer's partner tells him that she loves him, but then turns her head and seems to distance herself from him. The singer seems to be unsure about his place in the relationship, feeling like he's no good and doesn't belong there. However, he persists, saying that he won't apologize for being there. The chorus seems to be a plea from the partner, asking whether he will be there for her when things get tough.

The song deals with the common struggles of a relationship, including fear and uncertainty, and the fear that one's partner won't be there when they need them. Despite these struggles, the singer promises to be there for his partner, to hold onto the feelings they share, and to catch her if she falls. Overall, the song seems to be about the power of commitment and staying true to one's promises in a relationship, even when things get hard.

TheDebkaye

amazing voice...luv this band

John Martin

Went to see these guys many times: Reed's, Brownie's, Grape Street Pub, etc. All the local haunts. Back in the day...I also ran into them at a rest stop off the TPKE on the way home from AC one night! Good stuff. Be it as Bonehead or Familiar 48 as they eventually had to change to (copyright stuff)...cool band.

Jewelz Zicha

Jayy Mannon has that "special something" in his voice ....the intangible quality that produces superstars so it blows me away that Bonehead/Familiar 48 didn't come out on top of the industry when their debut album was released. ~~ something about him makes me feel like he is singing directly to me... to nobody but me!

Hope y'all are having fun and playing music live around whatever "real jobs" you ended up at. And if you ever get to Salt Lake City on tour. ....hit me up! There is a great club called the Royal here owned by Neal Middleton of Royal Bliss and it would be perfect venue for you

Chris Michael

You are correct. Jayy and the band are amazing. I talk to him regularly and see them play locally all the time right now. Still as great as ever.

I have the Wonderful Nothing cd and this song is one of my favorite songs of all time

Lisa Little

I call this version the "acoustic" version. There is a second version of this song done by this band that I call the "radio" version. The versions and lyrics are slightly different from each other, but both are great. This band deserved far more airplay than it got.
