Fantasia has released five studio albums Free Yourself (2004), Fantasia (2006), Back To Me (2008), Side Effects of You (2013), The Definition of... (2016), and a holiday album, Christmas After Midnight (2017).
In addition to her music career, Fantasia has also ventured into other pursuits such as publishing, acting, and Broadway. In her memoir "Life is Not a Fairy Tale", she reveals intimate details about herself, including her functional illiteracy. The book was later adapted into a Lifetime movie of the same name in 2006. Directed by famed actress and choreographer Debbie Allen, it received 19 million viewers, making it Lifetime's second-most viewed program of all time.
During 2007, Fantasia was on Broadway performing as Celie in The Color Purple, the hit musical based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Alice Walker. Her performance had earned rave reviews and helped boost ticket sales as well as her album sales. After her Broadway stint ended in January 2008, Fantasia was back on the road again touring and is said to be preparing for her next studio album.
2. Fantasia is also the first name from the French symphonic metalband Fairyland. They called themselves 'Fantasia' when they made demos like 'Cruel Death' and 'The King'. But when they came with their debute album, they changed their name in Fairyland.
3. Fantasia is a progressive rock band from Pietarsaari, Finland. Originally named St. Marcus Blues Band (founded in 1967), the bassist Markku Lönngren came up with the new name from Amazing Blondel's album called "Fantasia Lindum" and thus changed the name to "Fantasia" in 1973.
The band defined their sound somewhere between progressive rock and hard rock although the sound mainly resembles to those of the other 1970's prog rock bands, such as Finnish compatriots Wigwam and Tabula Rasa. Fantasia released only one self-titled album in 1975 with only 2000 copies sold (which made it a almost a "rarity" amongst the prog rock collectors), but has been reissued on CD by Rocket-Records in 2010.
Line-up: Hannu Lindblom (guitars & vocals), Harri Piha (bass), Karl-Erik Rönngård (drums) and Roul Helantie (organs & piano).

When I Met You
Fantasia Lyrics

I never knew
'Bout all the things you see me through
When I met you
I never knew
'Bout all the things that we would do
Then I met you
When I met you
Listen
Sometimes it takes eighty moments
To show you, you don't need the drama
Once you're high like marijuana
You won't wanna hit no other
Listen to me when I tell you
That without him, there would be no you
So yes, I thanked my ex
A little hold still (hold still)
'Cause without him, how would we know
Our love is really real
When I met you
I never knew
'Bout all the things you see me through
When I met you
I never knew
'Bout all the things that we would do
Then I met you
When I met you
I met me too
Listen
Sometimes it takes fire places
To show you, you don't need to chase it
Sometimes it takes flowers and good wine
Show you, you don't need the late life
Listen to me when I tell you
That without him, there would be no you
So yes, I thanked my ex
A little hold still (hold still)
'Cause without him, how would we know
That our love is really real
When I met you
I never knew
'Bout all the things you see me through
When I met you
I never knew
'Bout all the things that we would do
Then I met you
When I met you
I met me too
I met me too
When I met you, baby, woah
When I met you
Met me too
When I met you
I never knew
'Bout all the things that we go through
When I met you
I never knew
'Bout all the things that we would do
Then I met you
When I met you
I met me too
I met me too when I met you
I, I still remember the day
It was beautiful, yeah
Um
If I hadn't went through the things I'd went before
Then I wouldn't know how special you are
My eyes would still be close
And, um, now, they're wide open
Because I met you
In Fantasia's song "When I Met You," she sings about all the things she never knew until she met her partner. She acknowledges that she went through tough times and faced drama before meeting her partner, but without the past, she wouldn't have been able to appreciate her present. Fantasia realizes that it takes time to realize what's important, and sometimes, it takes specific moments to understand that you don't need to chase happiness or love. It's all about appreciating what you have in front of you.
The lyrics can relate to anyone who has been in a relationship. Sometimes, you go through failed relationships before you meet your partner, and the past becomes a learning experience. Fantasia emphasizes that it's important to acknowledge the past and how it shapes one's present self. The song's title "When I Met You" is an indication that meeting her partner has changed her life for the better.
In summary, the song is about learning that you don't need drama or to search for happiness. Instead, it's about cherishing the present and the one you're with, even if it took moments of hardships and learning experiences to get there.
