Finding their inspiration from the diverse city blocks and night club scene of Southern California, FM has built a strong internet fan base and a new lifestyle brand for the next generation of youth around the world. “The Far East Movement is the name for our music, lifestyle, and our party. For the diverse music fan that hits up 3 clubs in 1 night, tuned to the racing scene and fashion, and back on the computer religiously checking blogs and sites for anything related to that.”- FM
FM has embarked on 2 World Tours (including the USA, South America, Canada, Europe and Asia) and recently featured on the 35 city Party Rock Tour with LMFAO, signed distribution deals in Japan and Korea (Avex Network and JF Productions respectively), garnered multiple features on MTV World, and also featured music on worldwide media such as FOX’s “So You Think You Can Dance”, MTV’s “America’s Best Dance Crew”, ABC Family’s Lincoln Heights, CBS Primetime shows “CSI: Miami” and “CSI: NY”, multiple placements on HBO’s “Entourage”, “Fast & Furious Tokyo Drift” and “Finishing the Game” (a featured film at Sundance 2007). Far East Movement’s single “Girls On The Dance Floor” has taken over clubs and radio stations around the world, reaching #1 on Los Angeles radio and charting on the Billboard Charts. On February 12th, 2010, the Far East Movement officially signed their first major label record deal with Cherrytree / Interscope Records. After 2 independent album releases and a rigorous tour schedule, the Far East Movement is in the studio working with the Stereotypes (Production team) on their 3rd album and first major release in 2010.
The original members of Far East Movement, Kevin Nishimura (Kev Nish), James Roh (Prohgress), and Jae Choung (J-Splif), grew up in Koreatown, Los Angeles, California. They were close companions in high school and shared a passion for music together. The trio promoted their music online and began performing at local clubs and events in Los Angeles; soon, they began their musical career with the name "Emcee's Anonymous" by 2001. However, they later changed it to Far East Movement or FM, originating from a song that they produced with the same name. In 2003, they organized together an event called "Movementality" in Koreatown, LA, featuring ten different performances with all the proceeds sent to a local youth drug rehabilitation center. On September 21, 2016, S.M Entertainment, one of the largest entertainment companies in South Korea, announced that Chanyeol, from popular K-pop band EXO, would be collaborating with Far East Movement in their track "Freal Luv", which also features Tinashe and Marshmello.[26]

Far East Movement Lyrics

Ooh yea yeah
-Chorus
Yo
Wishing you were here, at this time of year
Cuz? it don?t mean a thing if it ain?t with the one you love
See it so clear
Now Anny was a girl I knew back in the day,
Thought she caught me eyes but she was looking at Jay (what? up)
She had it cause of Becky and we spoke on the phone
Surprise visit to a house and can?t answer the dove
Carrel was a barrel the last we had got, ?till she pulled out her wallet at a stack full of wants (didn?t I)
Debby always ready, Elly, (get the girl) but when they met each other they ain?t need me no more
Francy, Francy, she wasn?t from calley. We had a little fringing now she?s back in Miami (M.I.A.)
Life?s full of all these peaks and valleys. But, god, I still got my family. (Ooh)
-Chorus
When I?m alone in my room, sometimes I stare at the wall.
And in the back of my mind I hear my conscious call.
Tellin? me I need a girl who?s as sweet as a dove,
For the first time in my life I see I need love, there I was,
Thinkin? bout the days before.
Are you ever coming back or should I give up on ho.
I know it?s hard to cope, but the girl was a ho.
She left me in the cold, never can?t get a dove.
What the hell was I thinkin? what a waste of my time.
So I?m tearing down your stocking hanging right next to mine.
Never make the same mistake when you?re fishing the lake.
I?m sailing in my boat, all alone for the holidays.
I wanna be, wanna be in love but I don?t believe you.
No one?s home for the holidays so it?s nice to see you. (say this, say)
I wanna be, wanna be in love but I don?t believe you.
No one?s home for the holidays so it?s nice to see you.
-Chorus
Yo, thanks giving dinner for one delivery.
Block busta night, no tree on Christmas eve.
Labour day to Halloween looking for treats.
But, no eastern bunny, just a rotting ass teath.
Broke, not poor, but broke like ambition.
Heart can?t start, so broke like transmition.
Rasberry jelly feeling missing (listen)
Ladies in my life never stay in the picture.
Focus, wishing on a star moving east and my car till I kiss me in the forehead.
Love?s code red. Valentines whine. One sip on the lips leaves a lonely man blind so,
-Chorus
The song "No One's Home for the Holidays" by Far East Movement is about missing someone during the holiday season. The chorus starts off by saying how much the singer wishes the person they missed was with them during this time of year. They then go on to say that the holiday season is not complete without the one you love. The song also tells a story of different women the singer has known over the years. Some of them were interested in him, but he ended up losing them, and others found love with someone else. The singer then reflects on past relationships and thinks about how he needs love in his life.
The first verse introduces a girl named Anny, who the singer thought was interested in him but ended up liking someone else. The second girl mentioned is Carrel, who the singer had been with but lost when she revealed her materialistic side. The third girl mentioned is Francy, who the singer had a fling with but now lives in Miami. The chorus repeats after each verse, emphasizing the importance of having someone you love around during the holidays.
