Fave started playing the piano at 18 while attending Ball State University. Two years later, he became the musical director of his university gospel choir and spent most of the mid to late-90s writing gospel songs and playing piano in local churches. He is also self-taught on organ, trombone, trumpet, lead and bass guitar.
In 2000, Fave moved to Atlanta and studied production under many renowned and underground R&B / pop producers. In 2002, Fave joined indie label, Lightsout Entertainment and co-founded GrooveSpeak, a weekly open mic showcase in Southwest Georgia. His love for the โneo soulโ movement expanded while promoting this event and recording new material.
Fave produced two albums while at LOE, the spoken word / soul LP, Lovers Interlude and Barry Ousleyโs R&B debut, Emotional Progression. Both albums demonstrated Faveโs versatile style of production, songwriting and vocal arrangements. Fave founded the โGrown + Sexy (G&S) Band" where he played keys and sang throughout the Southeast. During this time, he was known as โTrelblazaโ for starting these new cultural movements. He left LOE amicably in 2004 in order to relocate from Georgia and further his career as a marketing executive in the beverage industry.
In 2006, Fave began working on a music podcast celebrating underexposed indie artists in addition to his own selections. The Friday Favecast has evolved to a weekly podcast highlighting artists such as Eric Roberson, Sy Smith, Dwele, Foreign Exchange, Little Brother, S1, Choklate and others.
He currently produces the The Friday Favecast in Houston in addition to contributing keys and vocals as 1/3 of the Cross Country Collective with electronica producer, Todd Kelley (Big La), and gospel-jazz guitarist Doug Ramsay (Fresh).
Fave recently co-produced the Men Love Mary: A Tribute to "My Life" mixtape project hosted by Chucky Thompson, and featuring Eric Roberson, Jesse Boykins III, Nino Moschella, et al.

"Obsessed" by Fave is a song that talks about the intensity and connectedness that comes with true love. The song starts with the repeated phrases "yoboyokega ayabokega" and "oyoboyokega ayabokega," which are in Yoruba language and do not have a specific meaning in English. The artist highlights the strong bond she shares with her lover, stating that they are deeply connected. Fave sings that every little thing he says or does affects her deeply, even missing a call from him causes her heart to ache. She is obsessed and cannot stop thinking about him, and it seems like her mind is in a perpetual state of spinning.
The chorus of the song expresses her obsession and how she cannot seem to shake the thought of him from her mind. The song also touches on the fears and doubts that come with being in love, wondering if their love is just "play play," or if it is the real deal. Fave expresses her worries about the future of their relationship, wondering if they are in it for the long haul. Throughout the song, she continues to emphasize the intense connection and obsession she feels for her lover.
