Fear's song Disconnected is a political and social commentary on the disconnection between the government, the middle class, and different social and religious institutions. The first two lines of the song, "Give up - fuck the government, Kill the home owners" express frustration with the government and the wealthy elite who own homes, and may be seen as a call to violent revolution.

The second verse of the song, "All the prime time tv shows, Say the middle class are homos" critiques the media for promoting shallow stereotypes and contributing to disconnection among social classes. Fear suggests that the media narrative may lead viewers to perceive the middle class as being gay, rather than acknowledging the complexities and heterogeneity of this group.

In the third verse, "See the Kool-aid in the compound, Stir it up and pass it around," Fear references the Jonestown Massacre, where cult leader Jim Jones and his followers died from drinking poisoned Kool-Aid. This verse may represent the inherent dangers of blindly following charismatic leaders or ideas, and the groupthink that can occur within religious or ideological communities. Finally, the line "Fuck religion - eat skunk" expresses a rejection of organized religion altogether and may suggest a desire for a more individualistic approach to spirituality.
