Intro
Fear Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

We at the table where the bosses sit
One thing they can never say is that he off his shit
I Face everything and rise I put that shit on my back
I use to ball on these niggas now I'm sticking to rap

And I choose my battles wisely
Cic to my right, thats brother like we Isley's
These days the sucka shit never surprise me

I need to own a couple properties like it's monopoly
I need me a couple prodigy's lately I'm proud of me
And all my mother made was King's it's inside of me
I beat the Odds I can't lie it's been a ride for me
Minor roadblocks they probably really think they stopping me

Ha
Sosah probably to the left of me
I move honorably so that's probably why he blessing me

My lord knows
I'm ten toes cut my feet off I grow ten more
The end goal ownership is what we been on

Laying these bricks got my hands sore
The foundation sturdy, something we can stand on
King and Nova gone know they Daddy a rare breed
Teach my son the proper code and that a man leads

Teach my daughter she worth more than what the eyes meets
Understanding niggas morals is beyond me!
Carry the load the family always come first for me
I'm from the bottom it's been a gift and a curse for me

They handshakes ain't matching the smiles
They tribulations ain't been matching they trials
When you moving calculated

If you smart you won't react on the fly
When it's right you just when it's time
We live by a code that is not to be broken
We run through any door we leaving it open

All my niggas make it if I make it

If I'm famous then they famous
This whole years ours for the taking!

Overall Meaning

In Fear's song Intro, the first set of lyrics talks about the importance of being on top of one's game all the time. The table where the bosses sit is where he sits now, and he knows he's not off his game. The phrase "Face everything and rise" signals that regardless of the challenges faced, the only way forward is to tackle them head-on and emerge victorious. The line "I use to ball on these niggas, now I'm sticking to rap" appears to be a nod to the fact that Fear was previously into drugs, and now he's switched to rap music. He acknowledges that he has a few minor setbacks in life, but he is still going strong.

The second set of lyrics speaks about how Fear chooses his battles wisely. Cicero, who is on his right side, is like a brother to him, akin to the Isley Brothers. Fear constantly encounters "sucker shit" in life, but it doesn't surprise him anymore. He goes on to talk about how he desires to own a few properties, and how proud he is of his accomplishments. He acknowledges that he comes from a lineage of kings, and this motivates him even more. Fear is clear about his desire to own something beyond just a name or reputation; He craves ownership. He acknowledges that minor setbacks might slow him down, but they won't stop him. In the final verse, Fear talks about ensuring that his family always comes first for him. He wants to lay a strong foundation that goes beyond him, so his children are taught the right codes and morals.

Crows reaction gets me everytime.

It gives that powerful, bitter "no turning back" feeling, distinctively warning of terrifying things becoming irreversible from then on.

Left alone with the consequences.

Everything is fucked up.

Time's up.

How Do Ya Like Me Now, Chucklehead?

Love this game. Still holds up graphically and plot-wise ten years after its release. Haven't seen a game with staying power like FEAR since the 2002 Gamecube remake of Resident Evil.

Demicus Maximus

Make that sixteen+ years.

FEN1X 64

For a game from 2005, damn that is visually impressive

@bonecrusher855 yep, this AI Next to S.T.A.L.K E.R. games AI are one of the best in fps gaming.

@bonecrusher855 Weird. I could max it out in 2005 at 1280 * 1024 with just GeForce FX5600 + Athlon 3700+. I. It was good looking and well-optimized, but not that impressive during real gameplay sequences. Most of the game consists of empty rooms with a broom a bucket and a blue hammer here and there. The intro is fantastic, the game itself was meh.
