Lead-singer Grog would never define Feline's music any more than acknowledging those dark elements within it, but admitted to some influences such as Sonic Youth, Iggy Pop, and The Pixies. A classically trained pianist, Grog wrote the bulk of Feline's material; some of the songs she recorded with Feline were written by her prior to the band's formation.
Generally getting good write-ups in the rock press, such as NME and Kerrang!, they released a number of singles, a limited release album and a single full-length album between 1997 and 1998 but were not as successful as their potential showed. Their record company dropped them in 1999 as part of a company-wide roster clear out, and they split, with several members moving on to form Ultraviolet, and then, the relatively more successful Die So Fluid (who have to date released 4 albums with a fifth slated for 2017).
The name "Feline" was also used by the Belfast-based band The Feline Dream between 1993 and 1995.
The female german singer Swantje Schneemann from Hamburg used the name "Feline" for her first and only single "Magic Carpet Ride"
Sun In My Eyes
Feline Lyrics

I see you're wearing your ring
Did you wear it for me?
There's not need to get so uptight
You look good tonight
You look better than me
In my eyes
And it's making fun of me
I'll try to get act right
And I'll be polite when it's time to leave
Never seen you shining so bright
I can't quite decide who to believe
Cuz it's like the sun
In my eyes
And it's making fun of me
Who should I believe?
Who should I believe?
It's playing tricks on me
I can't help but change in hindsight
It looks different now and so hard to please
If I'm blinded by the daylight
I still find a way to make you believe
And it's like the sun
In my eyes
And it's making fun of me
It's like the sun
In my eyes
And it's making fun of me
Who should I believe?
Who should I believe?
It's playing tricks on me
The lyrics to Feline's "Sun In My Eyes" seem to be addressing a romantic encounter where the singer is questioning the intentions of the other person. They notice that the other person is dressed up and wearing a ring, and wonder if it's for them. There seems to be some tension, as the singer reassures the other person that they look good, and that they look better than the singer themselves. However, despite the reassurances, the singer still feels like they're being made fun of by the sun in their eyes. They struggle with figuring out who to believe and can't help but change their outlook on the situation in hindsight. The song ends with the repeating line of "Who should I believe?" which indicates a sense of confusion and uncertainty about the situation.
