I feel like any kid who has a tendency to stray from the group should listen to the first story so that they're scared into sticking with the group on field trips. As harsh as that sounds, it's safer in the long run to make them scared into not breaking the rules. I remember growing up and my parents telling me to never open the door to any stranger on any condition, not even the mailman, nor even respond or say anything out loud if the doorbell rang so as to indicate that I was in the house alone. I was told that if any stranger outside found out I was alone in the house, that person would report me to the cops and I'd be taken away. As a kid I believed it so I obeyed their rule like it was law-- now that I'm an adult I know it was obviously a lie, but I understand the rationalizing behind their rule: make sure no stranger aware I was in the house alone. Kids until a certain age don't understand the concept behind kidnapping.

one of the things that terrifies me most about a lot of the near-miss stories is how often people say that they never told anyone. Usually for feelings of shame (absolutely misplaced shame) or fear of having done wrong (because when something wrong happens to us we wanna think there’s a reason, that it was avoidable) which just makes it SO much sadder.

This isn’t really a field trip story but one time I was walking to school my new way because I was running late but when I was walking around the corner I noticed there was a man slowly following me so I started speeding up. I was almost around the at the end of the block when I noticed he was getting closer so I turned the corner and started running as fast as I could but my book bag was slowing me down soon the man had disappears but had reappeared after I hid behind a white van then ran I noticed there was a lady taking out her trash far across the street and so I turned the corner going towards the lady running down the street but soon she went inside and the man stoped following me( I was in 6th grade may I add and I ran track so I was pretty fast) I was pretty small and the guy was bald and had a beard he had on a black hoodie and jeans he reminded me of a child predator. Once I got back to the main road I met my friend and told them what happened and we got to school I’ve never went that way again I regret even going that way but I was glad I made it out safe.

Yeah, the only criticism I have with these stories is that half of the time, Mr Nightmare’ stories are “character meets stranger, stranger brings character to location, stranger turns out to be evil, character escapes while the stranger manages to pull a karma Houdini” I just feel like these stories suffer from being too formulaic at times

And choosing not to share what happened to them, who knows how many more victims they enabled that predator to take/continue to take to this day. They had a lot of information about him down to what kind of vehicle he drove, what he looked like, the interior color of his vehicle, where he took them, a lot of things.... as 7th graders they wouldn't have had any idea the amount of information that professional interrogators could have helped them remember and regurgitate. Really stupid move on their part, in multiple ways. I hope they look back on this and feel incredible shame and regret. They should still consider going to authorities to this day. Hypnotic regression or Flow State could be used to help them remember this especially if they haven't retold the story too many times.

I have a story: at around age 6 or 7 me and my friends were running around the school just playing random games. After all that running I got tired and stopped at the side of the school to catch my breath and it is there where I saw something I never expected to see. I saw a man in a Van pulled stiff to the front seat with his head in a kinda position as if his throat was being tied from behind. He had on a basket hat tilted alot to the front almost covering off half his face. I watched and watched to ensure I wasnt seeing something that wasnt there but to my horror it really was a man. I ran to get my teacher and all the other students came running after being alerted by the fast spread of the terrible news. Where this incident happened was at an organization which had the other employees upstairs. But the view and the position of the man's death looked like someone murdered him rather than he killing himself. I was a child yes but I was always a smart one growing up to know wrong from right and when shit dosen't add up. The police were called and they ruled it off as suicide. To this day that image has not left my mind at all. I can remember every detail just as if it happened yesterday. Only an insane person cannot figure out that this incident was a "MURDER". I felt so sad for the man because he was no stranger to us he would always make jokes at random points whenever he has a free time from office. There were so many plots which proved this was not a suicide but that's how the law works 90%😑!!

I went on a field trip to Ottawa once and one of the guides one day told the class that ghosts prefer corners and that’s why they built the museum with no corners. All the walls are rounded. The next day I had gotten a shock pen and I shocked myself with it to see how strong it was. I threw it 😂 it went behind the chair in the corner of the hotel room and I instantly got up to get it. It was no longer behind the chair. While I was looking for it one of the girls I was sharing the room with was like ‘uhhhh angel?’ And I looked at her and she was pointing at the bed. I WATCHED this pen fly behind the chair across the room. I instantly went to pick it up so I didn’t forget it when we went home. And somehow it teleported back to the bed. I definitely would have seen if someone went and grabbed it while I was on my way over to it so I wholeheartedly believe it was a ghost. (I have a lot of other experiences in houses that I’ve lived in. They follow me 😬)

I took a band trip in eighth grade to Orlando to perform at Disney, and the whole group split up afterwards in universal studios to ride around several rides. One particular group let a random stranger ride rides with them all day when he claimed he was part of the group. I don’t know if he was arrested, but I only know he wasn’t any part of the school band or even affiliated with anyone there. One thing to be careful of, don’t allow a stranger to speak to you if you’re on a field trip of any kind. It doesn’t matter if you think they’re going to walk you to your teacher, if you haven’t seen them before, don’t ever think that you’re in safe hands

Wow that first story is definitely one of the scariest on this channel, and I hope it isn’t real because if so, there’s a dangerous man out there who never got caught because it was never reported. If it was real, I wish they would have told the cops about it because I’m sure the aquarium at least had CCTV to check back on to identify that man and his car. You need to buy passes to get in after all, his info would be in the system SOMEWHERE. And I get that they were too traumatized to tell anyone, but yeah I’m just hoping this was a fictional story. The thought of that guy out there really horrifies me. Even if the story wasn’t real, people like him are.

Your channel is great man 👍🏻. Just listened to the aquarium story and can’t help but think it’s made up by whoever told you it. It just doesn’t sound plausible. 2 young kids kidnapped for an hour, no one misses them from the trip and they somehow both escape a man with a knife only to find there way back to the aquarium and then not say a word eh that if real would be so traumatic as a young kid there is no way they could just go back and continue the fish viewing day. i have visited the EXACT same house in story 2 and i had a very similar experience. i had a shitty almost dead-dead iphone at the time so my camera quality sucked ass, but i shit you not when i took that picture i saw a glowy orb and a shadowy figure in that same window. i was stunned honestly.

Me: didn't they say the man stopped following after throwing the knife .
If he threw the knife at them and stopped following that means he didn't go for the knife if the kid saw the man going for the knife they still would think the man is chasing , so we also know that he fled the other direction in the car which means he left . so the kids could have told the police where they escaped from the man and the police would have found the knife on the road and they could have scanned the fingerprints also the man probably didn't have gloves because they didn't notice it

Guys, I kid you not. I visited Gatlinburg Tennessee a few weeks ago for a road trip of the South me and my family were taking. And the first guy was not lying. It is a LITERAL mountain town. It's beautiful but can get a bit sketchy late at night when all the lights shut down and it turns into a ghost town. I even walked past that EXACT aquarium he was talking about in the story on my way to get some Five Guys lol. I stayed there for three days at the Vista Park Doubletree. If you pause the vid at 0:29 that big building that towers everything was my hotel.

Here's a short one that really happened to me:

We went to NYC in grade 9. Before going to Madame Tussaud's wax museum, they allowed us to walk around NYC by ourselves, unsupervised and shop for 2 hours. My friends and I (like 5 girls) were crossing the street to get to the museum when we notice one of our teacher's starting at us with a concerned look on his face. We're thinking "oh shit we're late we're going to get in trouble" so we run over to where our teacher is. He does a quick head count and then abruptly shoves us past the line of the rest of our classmates and into the museum. Once inside, he tell us that he was watching us go into stores across the street and noticed a man was following us into and out of every store. He started to get closer and closer to us and would look away when we looked in his direction. As we walked towards our teacher the man was apparently so close to us that he was literally up against my friend as we were waiting to cross the street. When he saw our teacher calling for us, the man ran away.

Thats a easy way to tell if a story is fake, its a massive shortcut to end a story so they dont have to finish the scenario and risk anybody googling to see if its true, also who in the right mind would go through something so traumatizing and and do absolutely nothing bc you're scared of possibly getting in a bit of trouble

Kids minds think differently. They were scared. Happened to me and my sister, a guy almost kidnapped up. We ran, never told anybody. Of course later on when older realized we should had said something but at that age it's shocking , very confusing and scary.
