From saladdaysmag.com about their 2011 EP called Broken:
On May 17, California's Fight Fair returns with a new Triple Crown Records EP titled Broken, which harkens back to the band’s roots. “After trying something new on our debut LP California Kicks, we wanted to do a record of songs that shows where the band came from, going back to our debut EP Settle The Score," says front man Alex Bigman.
"The Broken EP is the culmination of our progression and the experiences we’ve had as a band in the past 7 years. With the help of producer Sam Pura at the Panda Studios in Fremont, California , we created an exciting new record that explores issues of friendship, relationships, and life changes. With 5 songs at a fast 10 minute length, Broken is a record for everyone who’s followed us since the beginning," explains Bigman. "We have a very eclectic taste in music and we used that dynamic when creating this EP."
The band started out in 2005, the more recent members include:
Alex Bigman - Vocals
Evan Henkel - Lead guitar, backup vocals
Kyle Wanninger - Rhythm guitar
Chris Begley - Bass
Josh Reef - Drums

Going Nowhere
Fight Fair Lyrics

What will be left to say,
There's times when I can't see in the mirror,
There's times when I can't see at all,
Cause you're 2, 000 miles away,
I'll be waiting for the day,
Where you can be next to me,
This coming holiday,
What will be left to say,
Your love should lead the way,
So I can't forget about,
I won't forget about,
You.
I loved to do you right,
I knew that this was goodbye,
Your blues in the summer sky,
Now I can't forget about,
Won't forget about,
You,
Some days I miss you so much that it hurts,
But there's always time for us to make it work,
You are the endless air I breathe,
My one and only if I was lucky,
What can I do to notice you,
Absolutely nothing,
This coming holiday,
What will be left to say,
Your love should lead the way,
So I can't forget about,
I won't forget about,
You.
I loved to do you right,
I knew that this was goodbye,
Your blues in the summer sky,
Now I can't forget about,
Won't forget about,
You,
So we burn into the small town under neon lights,
The late nights in Orinda were forever until you went away,
OOH girl,
You know I wish you could stay,
[Small Breakdown]
This coming holiday,
What will be left to say,
Your love should lead the way,
So I can't forget about,
I won't forget about,
You.
This coming holiday,
What will be left to say,
Your love should lead the way,
So I can't forget about,
I won't forget about,
You.
I loved to do you right,
I knew that this was goodbye,
Your blues in the summer sky,
Now I can't forget about,
Won't forget about,
You.
The lyrics to Fight Fair's song "Going Nowhere" seem to be reflecting on a long-distance relationship and the difficulties that come with it. The first stanza sets the scene for the song, expressing the singer's longing to be with their partner who is 2,000 miles away. The line "will it last forever?" reveals that the singer is unsure of the relationship's longevity, which could be affected by the distance between them.
The chorus asks, "what will be left to say" during the coming holiday. This may suggest that the singer and their partner won't be able to spend the holiday together due to the distance or other factors. The focus on "your love" leading the way could indicate that the singer is looking for assurance from their partner that they are committed to the relationship.
The second verse offers a glimpse of hope that the singer and their partner will find a way to make the relationship work, despite the distance. The line "you are the endless air I breathe, my one and only if I was lucky" expresses the depth of the singer's love for their partner. However, the line "what can I do to notice you, absolutely nothing" suggests that the distance is making it difficult for the singer to show their partner how much they care.
Overall, "Going Nowhere" is a poignant and heartfelt song about the challenges of a long-distance relationship. The lyrics capture the emotional rollercoaster of love, longing, hope, and uncertainty that people in such relationships experience.
