"Nah, I don't go to shows unless I'm playing"
It's not like you're playing every week
Do you know what support means?
Well, you need some..so you better give some
Fuck you for thinking you're too cool for this
Fuck you and your stupid arrogance
This place is still the same
You've just grown old
This scene isn't a jumpstart to glory
Stop try to use it to make you look big
Go away, it's not like we need you
We'll wave goodbye with a one-fingered fist
The lyrics of this song convey a message of frustration and dissatisfaction with a certain individual who was once a part of the punk rock scene but has now grown distant from it. The opening lines address the individual's inflated sense of self-importance, as they claim to only attend shows when they are performing, as if they are too big to simply be a member of the audience. The singer then questions whether this individual truly understands the concept of support in the punk rock community.
From there, the lyrics turn more aggressive, as the singer directs a series of "fuck you" statements towards this individual's arrogance and disdain for the current state of the punk rock scene. The individual is accused of holding onto romanticized memories of the past, while failing to recognize that the scene is still thriving in its own way. The singer emphasizes that this individual is not needed in the scene anymore and suggests they should leave by gesturing a farewell with a defiantly-raised middle finger.
Overall, the song seems to be a critique of those who think they are too cool or too important to be a part of the punk rock community, while also celebrating the inherent subversiveness and rebelliousness of the scene.
