The thing I really like about Planes is that we learn that WWII happened in the Cars universe. Which means there was a Cars Hitler, a Cars holocaust, a Cars Pacific War, a Cars D-Day, a Cars nuking of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, a Cars Rape of Nanking, a Cars Battle of Iwo Jima...

This leads to so many important questions, like: were the Cars Little Boy and Fat Man nukes sentient? Was it a suicide mission? Are ALL Cars nuclear weapons sentient? Did Tsar Bomba have a personality?

What kind of car was Car Hitler? A VW? A forklift?

Was there a Cars 9/11? Were the planes hijacked, or were the planes themselves radicalized?

It may not be related to cars but the Surplus Willys jeeps here in the Philippines were converted into public transport vehicles, they are short at first but eventually lengthened to carry more passengers, they were also decorated in bright colors to look attractive both on the road and to passengers.

I always loved the clashing attitudes of sarge and Fillmore because Fillmore is super chill and doesn’t have any type of plans or schedule whereas sarge has had his entire week planned out the previous week and still maintains some of his military standards.

My favorite of their interactions is every morning where sarge plays the standard military bugle wake-up call while raising the flag and almost instantly Fillmore plays 60s hippy music at soon as the flag is raised and to me I think Fillmore does that on purpose because he knows sarge hates it and it’s his way of messing around with his friend

@Tired of Gaming Pixar themselves confirmed the brain and eyes are located in the cars cabin. Its exactly why Mater thought Celine Dephare looked so weird. No brain inside the car, eyes in the headlights. Celine Dephare and this convertible are the only 2 cars in this universe with no brain inside the cars cabin. We can assume Planes, Tractors, Birds(tiny planes) flys( micro cars with wings), fork lifts, blimps, ships and cranes also share the same format where the brain is located behind the eyes, in the cabin of the vehicle.

The theory is that the engine, driveline, body and its components are mechanical while the rest internally is organic matter with organs and all of that. It also explains why cars can get new engine block's but they can't ever change who they are or transfer into a new chassis and body( like the Lemons who are stuck in defective chassis and bodies)

Fillmore is more than just A VW bus. He is a representation of the spirit of Route 66 legend Bob Waldmire. A great man from a time gone by. I've had the pleasure of sitting in Bob's VW (a bay rather than a split, but creative licenses must be taken) and it was an amazing experience. The stories that vehicle could tell us would blow everyone's mind.

This is the movie of my childhood and it's also introduced me to Hendrix. I was 7 when it came out. Not so long after, In the same year, my father was playing Hendrix live at Woodstock DVD. I hear the same guitar sound like the one I hear in Cars so I ran to his room. I found out it was Hendrix (I didn't pay much attention to what Fillmore said in the scene)

As I think again, that also shows how iconic Hendrix is, even though it only appears in Cars for seconds, his sound is recognizable. Even for a kid. That was magic, what Hendrix did.

@Vegas Forever For me the surprise is not that there is a fanbase but rather the fanbase I encountered was very different from the autistic/special needs kid stereotype I always had in my mind. I'm a furry and a Sonic fan and am fully aware of stereotypes and prejudice towards what I like. Watching these videos and reading the comments I understand that many of these Cars fans are self aware and smart and know what they like and why they like it. The joker meme about Cars 2 being a good movie is so clever and funny and out of left field for me that it actually makes me appreciate the Cars series alot more which I already liked more than the average person. Most vehicles were not in these videos. Most of them were tanks and the others were aircraft and some aircraft are both retired and in service and also in the movie planes. Bombers that were not in the movie were my own characters such as the B-24 Liberater and the J model, the B-17G, F, and E (Flying Fortress), B-25 Mitchell, and the B-29 Superfortress (i made it have the age of 95 today and about 45 in WW2. Ships that were in the air raid are Japanese and the guns and that Flagship "the IJN Yamato (named after the Yamato Clan in Japanese History)" there were intended to be four ships in the Yamato-class but only three remains (one got convert into an aircraft Carrier named "IJN Shinano") proves it

Hmmmmm if sarge had been in the army (its confrimed army since he said the battle of the buldge since the u.s army fought in Europe while the marines fought in the pacific fighting the Japanese.) It makes you wonder if he also served in the korean wars since he clearly stayed into Vietnam.

Fillmore is a pacifist because his father, a VW Bug, was a product of Nazi germany and fought on the side of Hitler. Sarge had captured Filmore's father during the war during the Battle of Berlin and sent him to an allied impound lot until after VE Day several months later. When Filmore was born his parents sent him to the US as part of the German export program and tried to shield him from the history of his family, but of course he knew and ever since pledged to be peace loving and chill to everyone. Because of his life experiences fighting german cars in WWII Sarge, though undoubtedly seeing Filmore as a friend, will always also see him as a rival - the VW symbol always sparking a subconscious suspicion deep down inside him every time he sees it.

I don’t think so because they aren’t human and aren’t organic and fleshy like us. I don’t everything needs to be translated to a 1 on 1 with reality, for them it’s probably just that, mufflers.
