Freedom
Filth Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Look down next to yor feet boy, what do you see down there?
Glass glistening
In the moonlight pick up that bottle and feel it's weight in your hand
Feels good now doesn't it?
Why don't you put that bottle where it belongs?

[CHORUS:]
TRASH IS THE WINDOWS OF A MILLION TRACT HOUSES
TRASH IS THE WINDOWS OF A MILLION COP CARS

Do you know what else you can do with that bottle?
You can recycle it
I'll show you how to do that since you obviously don't know how

(CHORUS)

All I see
Is a dead world, covered up by buildings and streets
All I see are dead people
Living in this dead world they made
All I see our dead thoughts unable to
Understand anything except what they see
I will open your eyes, then I will shut you down

(CHORUS)

But that would not be nice now would it boy?

Put that bottle back down in the gutter,
Think your thoughts of order, and go back home...

Overall Meaning

Filth's song "Freedom" speaks about the society's trash as the reflection of their dead world. The lyrics address an individual who is holding a bottle of glass, and it advises the person to consider where it belongs, which is in the trash. The song suggests that trash symbolizes the society's lack of care and disregard for the environment. Referring to the first verse, glass glistening in the moonlight depicts the clutter that litters public areas. The chorus suggests that trash is visible everywhere and is evident in the windows of a million-seater cars and tract houses. The phrase implies that the sight of trash is now commonplace because of its abundance.

The song's second verse emphasizes the destructive nature of industrialization on the environment. The construction of buildings and roads has worsened society's life and left it for a dead world. The people living in this world are like living dead because of their unthinking attitude and inability to perceive and understand beyond what they see. The songwriter intends to provoke the listener's conscience into taking action towards safeguarding the environment. The singer's intention is to shift the individual's mindset towards giving the environment a chance, which can start with simple actions, such as disposing of glass waste in a proper trash bin or recycling them.

Kenpachi Zaraki

where did you get this album at?

NoName

Kenpachi Zaraki the best place to go is to the actual band, they dont make much from there albums and on top of that theyre actual albums are incredibly difficult to find. My best option for you is to email one of the founding members which isnt hard considering they are like the most unknown punk band; and a part of a small decade that was oppressed and hidden through government corruption and teenagers voices being benigned. Sad a 22 year old knows this, isnt it? Keep the punk alive. Btw he is fairly famous through the uk but most metal singers do not get recognition and are long forgotten. He would be delighted im sure to have a fan like you email him.

Edit: im sorry to reference him to metal but he is well up there with slipknot. Probably even sicker. Hes a fucking vampire for christ sakes.
