During a short time in 1999, the song was used temporarily (because of legal issues with the theme song) as the theme for Rush Limbaugh's radio show, and is currently used by WSB Radio's Clark Howard.
The unique snare drum "pop" sound was created by recording the snare drum portion separately. A speaker was then placed on top of the snare drum, and a microphone below. The original recording of the snare drum part was played back through the speaker and re-recorded.
She Drives Me Crazy
Fine Young Cannibals Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Things you do don't seem real
Tell me what you've got in mind
'Cause we're running out of time
Won't you ever set me free?
This waiting 'round's killing me
She drives me crazy
She drives me crazy
And I can't help myself
I can't get any rest
People say I'm obsessed
Everything you say is lies
But to me there's no surprise
What I had for you was true
Things go wrong, they always do
She drives me crazy
Like no one else
She drives me crazy
And I can't help myself
I won't make it on my own
No one likes to be alone
She drives me crazy
Like no one else
She drives me crazy
And I can't help myself
She drives me crazy
Like no one else
She drives me crazy
And I can't help myself
She drives me crazy
Like no one else
She drives me crazy
And I can't help myself
The lyrics to Fine Young Cannibals' "She Drives Me Crazy" explore the intense feelings and emotions that come with being infatuated with someone. The singer can't control the way they feel, and everything the object of their affection does seems unreal. They want to know what the other person has in mind, because time is running out. The singer can't take the waiting any longer, and wishes that the other person would set them free. They feel like they're going crazy, and can't help themselves.

Despite knowing that the other person is lying to them, the singer is still infatuated and believes that their feelings were true. They acknowledge that things can go wrong, but they still can't help the way they feel. The singer also admits that they won't be able to make it on their own, and that they don't want to be alone.

I am in remission, fought it for 4 years, I am 73. Hang in there, I had to take one day at a time, I joked a lot, and tried to laugh when I could. Believe me, it kept me going. I also did a lot of praying. God Bless

I remember a few years ago I asked on Facebook "can anyone recommend some good old fashion tunes" and my mother replied to me with this song. Since then my mother has passed and this song has now become something special for me. Love this so much.
