Fracture
Fit for a King Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Losing myself cause I was holding onto the person that I saw inside, every lie you justified, now I'm leaving you behind. I don't need you in my life. All this time I wasted lost in your eyes. The endless cycle shows, comfort I'll never know. And now we're worlds apart, but I still feel you. Weighed down under the brimstone
Suffocate. Suffocate. You made me feel like nothing. Separate. Separate. I need release from the thorns of your love. I'll find my peace in the fracture that showed me you mean nothing. You mean nothing to me.
The lyrics of Fit for a King's song "Fracture" convey a deep sense of heartbreak and disillusionment with a toxic relationship. The singer reflects on feeling alone in a metaphorical "darkest sea," where love cuts them like a knife. They describe being enveloped by a cold breeze and a sadness they can't hide. Despite being physically distant from their partner, they still carry the emotions and memories, noting that they can still feel their presence.
The chorus reveals a crucial turning point for the singer, as they realize that they have been losing themselves by holding onto the image of their partner that they once believed in. The lies and justifications that were employed by their partner have caused them to make the difficult decision of leaving them behind. The singer asserts that they no longer want this person in their life and expresses a sense of wasted time spent being lost in their eyes.
The imagery presented in the lyrics suggests a continuous cycle of pain and a lack of comfort. The weight of the relationship is compared to being under brimstone, suffocating and suffocating. The partner has made the singer feel insignificant, but now they desire separation and release from the thorns of this toxic love. The fracture that has occurred in their relationship has provided a glimpse into the truth that this person means nothing to them anymore. The singer seeks peace in this fracture, signaling their determination to move forward and find happiness without their former partner.

We hear it as advice all the time. But itโs EXTREMELY hard to cut off people who are bad for you. Attachment is real even if you know your friend or family member isnโt good for you. This song is so real. I love this band.
