You say you would die for your block, and you would die for your dawgs
You claim that you would risk your life for your neighborhood and friends.

But would you get on the cross, and then die for us all
Would you make the ultimate sacrifice like Jesus did by dying on the cross for everyone's sins?

I can hear Him cryin' "Let this cup pass from Me"
Jesus was in great distress and pleaded to avoid the suffering that was to come.

Yet some sin against Holy Ghost which is blasphemy
However, some still commit the unforgivable sin of blaspheming against the Holy Spirit.

Now picture pain the worst on earth ever existed
Imagine the most excruciating pain that has ever existed.

Experienced the mischief, endureth the crucifixion
Jesus endured both physical and emotional pain during the crucifixion.

He died although 40 percent wouldn't believe
Despite this, Jesus still died for everyone, even those who wouldn't believe in him.

See He died although 10 percent wouldn't receive
Jesus also died for the sake of those who would not receive him.

See He died although 20 percent wouldn't understand
Even if people didn't fully comprehend the significance of Jesus' sacrifice, he still died for them.

And only 30 percent reverenced Him as the Son of Man
Only a small percentage of people truly respected Jesus for who he was.

Now knowin' this He still said "Nevertheless, not My will but let Yours be done"
Even though he knew most people would not understand or appreciate his sacrifice, Jesus still submitted to God's will.

33 years of pain, sufferin' and sorrow
Jesus endured a lifetime of suffering and sadness leading up to his death.

Rejection, ridicule in a tomb that was borrowed
After he died, Jesus was buried in a tomb that didn't even belong to him.

Foxes have holes, birds have nest
Even animals have a place to call home.

But even the Son of Man didn't have a place to rest
Despite being the Son of God, Jesus had nowhere to lay his head.

They forget You're the Godman
People often forget that Jesus is both fully God and fully human.

Your Word says You were tempted on every hand
The Bible acknowledges that Jesus was tempted in every way, just like we are.

yet they promise up and down that you don't understand
Despite this fact, some people still think that Jesus cannot relate to their struggles.

Could it be an excuse to continue in sin
Perhaps people use this as an excuse to continue living in sin.

Could it be in their greed that they want more
Or maybe they just want more than what Jesus has to offer them.

As if dyin' on the cross wasn't enough for them
Some people seem to think that Jesus' death on the cross was not sufficient for their salvation.

Let's pretend and defend like it's the last rhyme
We often pretend to be knowledgeable and defend our beliefs, as if it's our last argument.

This is what I would say to persuade minds
However, we should focus on persuading people's hearts towards Jesus.

The first Adam straight died with his bride
Adam and Eve both experienced physical death as a result of their sin in the Garden of Eden.

And the second Adam straight died for His bride
Jesus also experienced physical death in order to save his followers - his 'bride.'

And we have a high priest who can really sympathize
Jesus is also our high priest who understands and can relate to our struggles.

With our weaknesses and see the lies
He can see through our weaknesses and the lies we tell ourselves.

And the disguise in us lived in Nazareth that's similar to our urban streets
Jesus lived in a town similar to our urban streets, so he understands our struggles with poverty and crime.

Til He was 30 and rejected by His town peeps
However, even though he grew up there, Jesus was still rejected by his own people in Nazareth.

Know what it's like to be shun, hung, spit upon
Jesus knows the pain of being rejected, mocked, and physically abused.

And still be the Son and one with the Father
Despite all of this, Jesus is still the Son of God and one with the Father.

Feel the agony of the main people hatin' on you
Jesus also knows what it's like to be hated by the majority of people.

The ones that read about you and suppose to be waitin' on you
Even people who claim to be waiting for Jesus' arrival can still hate him and what he stands for.

Know what it's like to be dogged out
Jesus understands what it's like to be treated unfairly and unjustly.

But gotta fight cause you called out
Despite this, he still had to fight because he knew he was called to his mission.

Plus in the garden of Gethsemane
Jesus experienced extreme distress and anguish in the garden of Gethsemane.

He made the choice to surrender to His enemies
However, he ultimately chose to surrender to his enemies and fulfill God's plan for salvation.

Know what it's like to walk the earth and get no love
Jesus also knows what it's like to not receive love or acceptance from those around you.

Treated so cold like hands and ice with no gloves
He was treated so coldly, like hands in the winter with no gloves to protect them.

No tongue should ever speak He don't know strugglin'
No one can claim that Jesus doesn't understand their struggles or hardships.

Heartache, heart break and sufferin'
Jesus understands the pain of heartache, heartbreak, and suffering.

Spit on, whipped on, and thrown down
He was physically abused and humiliated through being spit on, whipped, and thrown down.

A prophet without honor in His hometown own town
Jesus was not even respected or honored in the place where he grew up.

We waitin' to see the spectacular and miraculous
Many people are waiting to see miracles from God or some other supernatural event.

He cracked the grave and resurrected the miraculous
However, Jesus already performed the most spectacular and miraculous feat of all by resurrecting from the dead.

Showed His love and died for us while we were yet sinners
Jesus demonstrated his love for us by dying for us, even while we were still sinners.

You're either generation X or blessed winners
We are all either part of a certain generation or blessed by God to be winners in this life.

Took many lashes and then shed blood
Jesus endured physical pain and bled during the scourging he received.

Cried and sweat blood, God, now that's love that's love
Jesus was so distressed in the garden of Gethsemane that he cried and even sweat blood - evidence of his love for us.

What more can He do than He's already done
Jesus has already done so much for us in terms of sacrificing himself and showing us love.

Than to love the world so much that He sent His only begotten son
There is no greater demonstration of love than God sending his only son to die for the world.

What more can He do to say that He loves your life
God has already shown us how much he loves us through everything he has done for us.

Than to wrap in human flesh and become the Christ
And the most powerful demonstration of his love was becoming like us in human flesh and becoming the Christ who saves us from our sins.
