So, Flash Fiktion are a British band that were formed when 'Switches' came to an end. Switches released one really good album 'Heart Tuned To D.E.A.D.' (2007) which included the 'hit' single 'Lay Down The Law'. Matt Bishop was the vocalist and group founder. They deserved to be bigger than they were. Flash Fiktion deserved to be bigger than they were. But something has been bugging me for a long while. Through youtube I became aware of another 'band'...Scorpio Loon. A band who sounded uncannily similar to both Switches and Flash Fiktion in my opinion. Because of this similarity, I always assumed that it was another Matt Bishop project. However, I recently discovered that Scorpio Loon was supposedly the brainchild of a guy called Larry Alvarez who according to 'The Texan Libertarian' :

'died a few years ago. All of this music was put out after he died under orders from his will. Its a shame he never knew how much people liked his music'.

Really strange because musically and vocally, Scorpio Loon does sound very, very similar to the material by Switches and even more like Flash Fiktion. In a compilation of tracks by both Scorpio Loon and Flash Fiktion , if you were not aware of the two bands, you would assume it was just one.

Whatever the truth, both are/were sadly underrated and deserved so much more. If Larry Alvarez was indeed a real person who sadly died before his music was released, then that is a massive shame.
