1) Florencia "Flor" Caserta (born April 13, 1984) is an Argentine female pop and rock singer.
Caserta was born in El Palomar, Buenos Aires. She met Pablo Romero, singer of the band Árbol, who heard her singing and invited her to make a disc of covers from different bands from El Oeste (the western zone of Greater Buenos Aires). It was there that she recorded her first song, “Mañana en el Abasto”, by Sumo.
After that, they proposed that she record some demos of pop music. The process lasted two years, until they obtained five songs which they presented to producer Gustavo Santaolalla.
2) Flor is a musical project of vocalist Zachary Grace, bassist Dylan William, guitarist McKinley Kitts, and drummer Kyle Hill. Their musical style is described by them as a "blend of indie rock and synth pop into an atmospherically hooky sound".
The band got its start in Hood River, Oregon, when Grace experimented with electronic musical programs to make "ear catching synth sounds." William would then build tracks around these snippets, turning them into songs that, while based on 80s sounds, were updated for the 21st century. Flor would also work with photographer/designer Jade Ehlers, who made visuals for the band; meanwhile, William established himself as a producer working with Flor, as well as artists like Halsey and Lostboycrow. The band would release their debut single, "Heart," online in 2014, with the Sounds EP arriving that October. Following the release of the 2015 full-length Sights & Sounds, Flor signed to Fueled by Ramen in 2016, which reissued the Sounds EP that February. The band's first album for the label, come out. you're hiding, was released in May 2017. Featured on the album was the single "Guarded." After releasing a single in 2018 called "Get Behind This", they would later release the ley lines album, then the Reimagined EP on 2020 with a guest collaborator, MisterWives, on their cover of Coldplay's "Yellow". In 2022, they released the EP "Skate/Big Shot/Play Along", which contain 3 titular tracks that are planned to be released on their future album, Future Shine.
Still Standing Still
Flor Lyrics

Light sleeper, late night glow
I'll be your song breathe, repeat, be fine
Read between fine lines
I keep drawing my own
Pick up speed you call to me, no
Take a seat
And take with me
Everything that I've worked for
Oh I'm still standing still still standing
In the dark we've come to know
In the dark with no control still standing
Still standing still
In the nothingness, at least we're not alone
It feels like home
All I wanna do is give what I got
Let it out, let it live
All I ever get from you, keep it up
Lock it so they don't get in
What's the point in loving me?
Shutting off the world to see
Sure enough, they'll never know my name
I pick up speed you call to me, no
But I know these streets
And I'm faster than before
I've got everything
Even sleeping on the floor
My friends are alright and
I'll spend the night
Can't ask for much more
Oh I'm still standing still still standing
In the dark we've come to know
In the dark with no control
We're still standing still standing still
In the nothingness, at least we're not alone
It feels like home
Oh I'm still standing still still standing
In the dark we've come to know
In the dark with no control
We're still standing still standing still
In the nothingness, at least we're not alone
It feels like home
The lyrics of "Still Standing Still" by Flor paint a picture of resilience and self-discovery amidst challenges and uncertainties. The imagery of "Underneath streetlights" and "late night glow" sets a scene of solitude and introspection, with the singer being a "light sleeper" who is attuned to their surroundings. The lines "I'll be your song breathe, repeat, be fine / Read between fine lines / I keep drawing my own" suggest a determination to find solace and meaning within their own experiences, navigating through the complexities of life.
As the song progresses, the theme of independence and self-reliance emerges. The singer grapples with the tension between connection and detachment, as expressed through the lines "Pick up speed you call to me, no / Take a seat / But I'll walk right out the door." There is a sense of defiance and a refusal to conform to external expectations, as the singer chooses to prioritize their own journey and aspirations, symbolized by taking "Everything that I've worked for" with them.
The chorus reinforces the idea of standing strong in the face of adversity, both externally and internally. The repetition of "Still standing still" emphasizes resilience and perseverance in the midst of challenges and uncertainties. The mention of being "In the dark with no control" conveys a sense of vulnerability and struggle, yet the resolve to remain steadfast and resolute shines through.
In the final verses, there is a reflection on the complexities of relationships and the struggle to maintain one's individuality. The singer grapples with the conflict between their desire to give and receive love, yet feeling the need to protect themselves from potential harm. The lines "What's the point in loving me? / Shutting off the world to see / Sure enough, they'll never know my name" reveal a poignant introspection on the fear of vulnerability and the longing for genuine connection amidst a world that can be harsh and unforgiving.
Overall, "Still Standing Still" by Flor conveys a message of resilience, self-discovery, and the enduring search for a place of belonging and security in a world that can often feel isolating and uncertain. The recurring themes of independence, resilience, and the longing for connection resonate throughout the song, encapsulating the human experience of navigating through the challenges and complexities of life while striving to remain true to oneself.
