1) Florencia "Flor" Caserta (born April 13, 1984) is an Argentine female pop and rock singer.
Caserta was born in El Palomar, Buenos Aires. She met Pablo Romero, singer of the band Árbol, who heard her singing and invited her to make a disc of covers from different bands from El Oeste (the western zone of Greater Buenos Aires). It was there that she recorded her first song, “Mañana en el Abasto”, by Sumo.
After that, they proposed that she record some demos of pop music. The process lasted two years, until they obtained five songs which they presented to producer Gustavo Santaolalla.
2) Flor is a musical project of vocalist Zachary Grace, bassist Dylan William, guitarist McKinley Kitts, and drummer Kyle Hill. Their musical style is described by them as a "blend of indie rock and synth pop into an atmospherically hooky sound".
The band got its start in Hood River, Oregon, when Grace experimented with electronic musical programs to make "ear catching synth sounds." William would then build tracks around these snippets, turning them into songs that, while based on 80s sounds, were updated for the 21st century. Flor would also work with photographer/designer Jade Ehlers, who made visuals for the band; meanwhile, William established himself as a producer working with Flor, as well as artists like Halsey and Lostboycrow. The band would release their debut single, "Heart," online in 2014, with the Sounds EP arriving that October. Following the release of the 2015 full-length Sights & Sounds, Flor signed to Fueled by Ramen in 2016, which reissued the Sounds EP that February. The band's first album for the label, come out. you're hiding, was released in May 2017. Featured on the album was the single "Guarded." After releasing a single in 2018 called "Get Behind This", they would later release the ley lines album, then the Reimagined EP on 2020 with a guest collaborator, MisterWives, on their cover of Coldplay's "Yellow". In 2022, they released the EP "Skate/Big Shot/Play Along", which contain 3 titular tracks that are planned to be released on their future album, Future Shine.

Maybe throw our own thing, kick it back home
Call all our friends who we already know
Are gonna get louder, are gonna dance harder
No shiny rings, broken down car
Showing up in the hills, no one knows who you are
Why are you here? Why did you come?
Got nothing to do, it's always the same
Guess you'll start drinking, you can't remember their names
You were ready to leave as soon as you came
What do you say?
Maybe throw our own thing, kick it back home
Call all our friends who we already know
Are gonna gеt louder, are gonna dance hardеr
Let's take it back home, what do you say?
Maybe throw our own thing, kick it back home
Call all our friends who we already know
Are gonna get louder, are gonna dance harder
Let's take it back home
Maybe throw our own thing, kick it back home
Shrug off your blues at the doorway
Nobody's coming in here feeling lonely
We taking over the night with new highs for low lives
Wasted enough of the evening
Trying to fit where we couldn't get even
Don't get caught up in it, keep living
Let's take it back home, what do you say?
Maybe throw our own thing, kick it back home
Call all our friends who we already know
Are gonna get louder, are gonna dance harder
Let's take it back home, what do you say?
Maybe throw our own thing, kick it back home
Call all our friends who we already know
Are gonna get louder, are gonna dance harder
Let's take it back home
Maybe throw our own thing, kick it back home
Let's take it back home
Maybe throw our own thing, kick it back home
Let's take it back home
The lyrics of Flor's song "Take It Back Home" evoke a sense of nostalgia and the desire to retreat to a familiar, comfortable place. The repeated refrain of "Let's take it back home, what do you say?" reflects a longing to return to a place of belonging and connection. The idea of throwing their own thing and kicking it back home conveys a sense of autonomy and freedom in creating their own space and atmosphere.
The mention of calling friends who are known to get louder and dance harder suggests a desire for lively and carefree moments in the company of familiar faces. The imagery of no shiny rings and a broken down car, as well as showing up in the hills where no one knows who they are, hints at a simpler, more authentic way of being. There is a sense of questioning one's presence and purpose, as reflected in the lines "Why are you here? Why did you come?" This could be interpreted as a reflection on the motivations behind seeking out such familiar environments.
The lyrics also touch upon themes of aimlessness and escapism, with references to having nothing to do, starting to drink, and not remembering names. The line "You were ready to leave as soon as you came" suggests a transient and restless attitude, perhaps seeking refuge in temporary distractions rather than engaging fully with the present moment. The repetition of the invitation to throw their own thing and kick it back home underscores a desire for agency and control over their experiences, as well as a longing for the comfort and energy of home.
Further, the lyrics depict a sense of defiance against negative emotions and societal expectations. The image of shrugging off blues at the doorway and not letting loneliness seep in conveys a determination to resist negative influences. The idea of taking over the night with new highs for low lives hints at a rebellious spirit and a refusal to be bound by conventional norms or limitations. Overall, the song captures a mix of longing for familiarity, a quest for authentic experiences, and a rebellious streak that seeks to carve out one's own path.
