Daydreamer
Flux Pavilion Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

And we're all daydreaming now
Escape to another world
Live for another day
Escape to another world

And we're all daydreaming now
Escape to another world
Live for another day
And we're all daydreaming now

We spend our life in the rain
Every day feels the same
When I awake in the morning no, no
We feel like our work is done
And sit and wait for the sun
But it's hurtin our eyes

We spend our life in the rain
Every day feels the same
When I awake in the morning no, no
We feel like our work is done
And sit and wait for the sun, so young

And we're all daydreaming now
Escape to another world
Live for another day
Escape to another world

And we're all daydreaming now
Escape to another world
Live for another day

We feel like our work is done
And sit and wait for the sun, so young
And we're all daydreaming now

Don't have to be told
Don't have to grow old
Don't have to be told
Don't have to grow old
Don't have to be told
Don't have to grow old
Don't have to be told
Don't have to grow old

And we're all daydreaming now

Don't have to be told
Don't have to grow old
Don't have to be told
Don't have to grow old

And we're all daydreaming now

Don't have to be told
Don't have to grow old
Don't have to be told
Don't have to grow old

And we're all daydreaming now

Don't have to be told (Escape to another world)
Don't have to grow old (Live for another day)
Don't have to be told (Escape to another world)
Don't have to grow old (Live for another day)
Don't have to be told (Escape to another world)
Don't have to grow old (Live for another day)
Don't have to be told (Escape to another world)
Don't have to grow old (Live for another day)

And we're all daydreaming now

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Flux Pavilion's song Daydreamer are about wanting to escape the monotony of daily life and enter into a world of daydreams. The lyrics express the desire to live for another day and escape into another world, away from the dreary rain that characterises daily life. This mundane existence is highlighted by the repetition of the lines "We spend our life in the rain, every day feels the same". The lyrics lament this existence, where people feel like their work is done, with nothing left for them to do except wait for the sun.

However, there is hope, as the song emphasises that people don't have to be told to escape into their daydreams. They don't have to grow old and accept this mundane existence, but instead can continue to daydream and live for another day. The repetition of "Escape to another world, Live for another day" emphasises the importance of having dreams and aspirations, and encourages listeners to hold onto them.

Overall, the lyrics of Daydreamer convey a sense of hope and optimism while acknowledging the difficulties and monotony of daily life. They encourage listeners to hold onto their dreams and find ways to escape whenever possible.

I'm 33 now. I must have been 23 when Flux originally dropped this.

It hits different nowadays. Maybe I'm just projecting. I've had a lot of experiences since then; Learned a lot of lessons. As I catapult toward my mid 30s, I've come to know unfathomable pain. I don't like to think about what sort of pain is waiting for me down the road.

There's a special relationship between truth and pain. In a sense, divine truth seems to lead to divine pain—what some would call existential suffering, I suppose. The only thing that seems to help is to fabricate a "false" reality and hope that you stay lost in it. You know. A distraction. Some people turn to drugs. Some turn to relationships. Some turn to the pursuit of "meaning". Some turn to knowledge, like, if they just know enough then they'll be able to solve the problem. And still despite our noblest efforts, the truest truth, and the pain that comes with it, creeps in over and over again like a leaky submarine.

So... we're all daydreamers now. Escape to another world—live for another day. We spend our lives in the rain. Every day feels the same. We're not awake in the morning, no. We feel like our work is done and sit and wait for the sun, but it's hurting our eyes.

It hits different nowadays.

Love, laughter, family, joy, and completeness is also coming your way. The laws of attraxtion are prevalent in your life. You have more power than you believe. I can tell you are extremely intelligent. So use that to manifest positivity. You are probably ambitious. So create your own destiny. I know you can do it. You got this!!!

Most people will never understand how great this song is because it won’t be played on a system that captures the low notes throughout this song. Without the right system you miss an entire rhythm within this song.

@DeviantMittens

11 Years and still one of my favorite songs.
