History
Fold Zandura was formed in December 1995 after the break up of Jyro and Jerome's previous band Mortal. They hired drummer Frank Lenz and self-released their eponymous debut. In 1997 they released two albums the first aptly titled Return which featured 5 re-recorded songs from their debut and two new songs and an instrumental. Later that year they released their major label debut Ultraforever on BEC Recordings. This time the pattern was reversed and contained 14 new songs and 2 songs from Fold Zandura. They made a music video for "Deep Surround" and also recorded two non album tracks for two BEC compliations. Moms Like Us Too Vol. 1 featured "Serena", and Happy Christmas featured "Asia Minor". Sometime after Frank Lenz left the band in order to be closer to his family although he would continue to play at concerts close to home.
In 1999 they independently released their final album, a seven song EP called King Planet. The band members were listed simply as Jyro and Jerome although Jyro's wife Carla does vocals on one track.
In 2000 Jerome Fontamillas joined Switchfoot as a session musician and later joined them full time. The following year, "King Planet" was featured on the soundtrack to the film 'Extreme Days'. In early 2002 Jyro released Juggernautz a side project without Jerome on Metro One Music.
Also of note is Jyro's recent stint as the leader of the band LCNA (changed from Lucena) where he goes by the name JFM.
He is currently with Crystal Lewis and various other bands as producer, engineer, guitar and keyboard player.

Fold Zandura Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
And now, underneath the faltering clear.
I dream seamless perpetual night.
So deep, aching for the dawn to arrive.
It's coming, it coming,
It's come, and I feel I'm close to something divine.
Something eternal and pure
Nothing that I've seen before.
It feels like I'm falling, and forever is a long way down.
Yet slowly spilling like river flow at the mouth of the shore.
If we run into tomorrow,
It would be the highest low;
It's as far as we go.
But we die together,
We live believing the light returns,
And we'll never be whole until then.
We're closer, we're closer,
We're close, and I feel we're touching something divine.
Something eternal and pure
Divine
Nothing that I've seen before.
The song "Return" by Fold Zandura expresses the idea of longing for something pure, eternal, and divine, while navigating the complexities of life's struggles. The song starts with the singer describing their journey, how they have travelled alone to be here, and how despite the faltering clear, they dream of a seamless perpetual night; a state of rest and peace that is so deep, they ache for the dawn to arrive. The singer then talks about their sense of closeness to something divine, something eternal and pure, that they haven't seen before. The build-up to this moment has been fraught with difficulty, but as the chorus makes clear, this divine feeling is worth the wait. The next verse centres around the idea that the journey towards reaching this divine thing is a never-ending one. It feels like falling forever, yet the struggle is worth it. The singer talks about running into tomorrow, and how it would be the highest low. At the same time, they acknowledge that they will die together with hope that the light returns, and that they will never be whole until that happens. In the end, the singer feels a sense of closeness, that they're touching something divine.
Line by Line Meaning
I have travelled alone to be here.
I have journeyed on my own to arrive at this point.
And now, underneath the faltering clear.
Currently situated beneath an unsteady clarity.
I dream seamless perpetual night.
I long for an ongoing night without any disruption.
So deep, aching for the dawn to arrive.
In a state of unparalleled depth, yearning for the sunrise.
It's coming, it's coming, It's come, and I feel I'm close to something divine.
The occurrence I have been waiting for is nearing, and I sense I am close to an ethereal state.
Something eternal and pure Divine Nothing that I've seen before.
A holiness unspoiled by time, untainted by impurities, and unfamiliar to me.
It feels like I'm falling, and forever is a long way down.
I notice a sensation that mirrors a fall, while the prospect of an everlasting presence seems an unreachable distance away.
Yet slowly spilling like river flow at the mouth of the shore.
However, I seem to be slowly overflowing, similar to a river approaching the edge of a bank.
If we run into tomorrow, It would be the highest low; It's as far as we go.
In the event of extending into the next day, anything beyond that would be a significant downturn as far as we can go.
But we die together, We live believing the light returns, And we'll never be whole until then.
Our deaths will be simultaneous, but we exist faithfully, in expectation of the light to reappear, and our completeness awaits its comeback.
We're closer, we're closer, We're close, and I feel we're touching something divine.
We are gradually approaching, and we are near, and it seems like we are in contact with an otherworldly state.
Something eternal and pure Divine Nothing that I've seen before.
A holiness unspoiled by time, untainted by impurities, and unfamiliar to me.
