Recoil
For Ruin Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
In all too familiar ways, we
greet the strange with a turn of fate
and soldier on...
Perpetuate
The myth's relayed
Its sealed our fate
The lyrics to "Recoil" by For Ruin present themes of seeking direction and purpose in a world that can feel stagnated by repetition and routine. The opening lines emphasize this search for meaningful paths to take, and how the paths we have become accustomed to may not lead to any truly transformative experiences. The next few lines introduce the idea of fate and how it seems to play a role in our lives, whether we like it or not. This seems to be a double-edged sword, providing some guidance but also limiting our choices and potential. The phrase "soldier on" suggests perseverance through struggles and perhaps a sense of duty to carry on despite doubts or obstacles.
