The Beatles
Forbes Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Beatles gav oss sin musik
Yesterday vad den var fin
Alla älska' melodin
Yeah yeah yeah

När skivor kom då gick det larm
Grammofonen den gick varm
Alla föll för Beatles charm
Yeah yeah yeah

Många gick och nynna' på
A Hard Day's Night fast de var små
Beatles Beatles

Världen var en stor estrad
Och där stod vi rad i rad
Njöt av varje fin ballad
Yeah yeah yeah

Beatles gav oss sin musik
Flickor tjöt i vilda skrik

Beatles Beatles

Världen var en stor estrad
Och där stod vi rad i rad
Njöt av varje fin ballad
Yeah yeah yeah

Beatles gav oss sin musik
Flickor tjöt i vilda skrik
Alla skivor har vi kvar

Vi ska minnas Ringo Starr
Och George och Paul och John

If you don’t understand Swedish, i can tell you why.

The lyrics are horrible.

English translation:
”Grandpas father, can give a reply, who they were”

I’m not making that up, those are the real lyrics.

I like that they sing about your grandfathers father remembering the Beatles, about 6 years after they split up :)

@perkalov

Im born -73, so I was 4 at the time. My Grandfaters father was born in 1870s, at the latest... quite possibly a decade or two earlier (my grandfather was born 1892, that I know), he was dead before my dad was born (1929).

So yeah, Gramps father, to anyone who is old enough to have lived when this was recorded, would have been way to old to be relevant.

That said, not even the band finds the text that inspiring.

@birgittacarlsson9120

@Sahaib3005

Lol

@fredrikjelkefors9336

@adrianespinel7758

One of only two times in Sweden's history that they spectacularly bombed in Eurovision. It's like watching a car crash.

@nocturne7371

I would say that Swedn has bombed 3 times in ESC, ending last in 1963 and 1977, and not qualifying to the final in 2010.

@sendowitos8303

The last place? Yes, this song is awful.

@HB-bl5mn

The arrangement is brilliant and very up to date with its Disco-Boogie. I wished they had a totally different text and topic.

Forbes gav oss sin musik,
vi fick fly i vild panik.
