Alarmed
Foreign Figures Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Humankind, where's your paradigm?
Where's your inner voice above the noise?
Overtime we burn like dynamite
Working through the night to transpire
Come to our senses
Don't need no permission
We make our own way
It's our intuition so come what may
We are not castaway
Times can be hard
Trying to break us
We're spent and we're scarred
Bring our defenses and battle hard
We are the ones alarmed
We are the ones alarmed
Reunite
Come together like birds move through the sky, soaring high
Differences, bring your differences
Universalize peace of mind
Come to our senses
Don't need no permission
We make our own way
It's our intuition so come what may
We are not castaway
Times can be hard
Trying to break us
We're spent and we're scarred
Bring our defenses and battle hard
We are the ones alarmed
We are the ones alarmed

We are the ones alarmed
We are the ones alarmed

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Foreign Figures' Alarmed are a call to humanity to reconnect with their inner selves, listen to their intuition and come together in unity to overcome difficult times. The opening lines "Humankind, where's your paradigm? Where's your inner voice above the noise?" suggest that as a society, we have lost our sense of direction and our ability to hear our inner voices amidst the chaos of life. This is followed by the line "Overtime we burn like dynamite", emphasizing the urgency of the situation and the need to act before we self-destruct.

The chorus "Come to our senses, don't need no permission, we make our own way, it's our intuition so come what may, we are not castaway" encourages individuals to trust themselves, be self-reliant and not wait for external forces to dictate their lives. It also reminds us that we are not alone in our struggles and that we can band together to face any challenge. The line "Bring our defenses and battle hard, we are the ones alarmed" reinforces the idea that we need to be proactive in protecting ourselves and others from harm, and it emphasizes the urgency of the situation.

The final lines "Reunite, come together like birds move through the sky, soaring high, differences, bring your differences, universalize peace of mind" suggest that unity can be achieved despite our differences by focusing on our common humanity and the pursuit of peace. Overall, Alarmed is a hopeful message that urges individuals to take control of their lives, unite with others, and face challenges head-on.

The vid thumbnail is completely misleading... China has no military bases in Africa, it's entirely the former colonialists who have maintained them

Ghaddafi was totally against foreign military bases , as soon as they got rid of him, the bases increased significantly all over the continent.
