Dream A Little Dream Of Me

Night breezes seem to whisper
I love you
Birds singing in the
Sycamore tree
Dream a little dream of me
Say nighty night and kiss me
You′ll miss me
While I'm alone and blue
As can be
Dream a little dream of me
Stars fading
But I linger on dear
Still craving your kiss
I′m longing to linger
Till dawn dear
Just saying this
Sweet dreams
Till sunbeams find you
Sweet dreams
That leave all worries behind you
But in your dreams
Whatever they be
Dream a little dream of me
Stars fading
But I linger on dear
Still craving your kiss
I'm longing to linger
Till dawn dear
Just saying this
Sweet dreams
Till sunbeams find you
Sweet dreams
That leave all worries behind you
But in your dreams
Whatever they be
Dream a little dream of
Dream a little dream of
Dream a little dream of me
Dream a little dream of me
Forestella's rendition of "Dream a Little Dream of Me" is a romantic song written in 1931 by Fabian Andre, Wilbur Schwandt, and Gus Kahn. The lyrics are poetic, reflecting the dreamy, romantic sentiment of the song. It starts with the image of stars shining bright above the listener, while night breezes seem to whisper, "I love you." Tying in the beauty of nature, the song then speaks of birds singing in a sycamore tree while asking the listener to "Dream a little dream of me."
The chorus of the song asks the listener to say "nighty night" and kiss the person singing the song, holding them tight and telling them they'll be missed. The song talks about the feeling of loneliness, asking the listener to dream of the person singing the song while they're alone and lonely. As the stars start to fade, the song continues to express the feelings of longing for that special person, craving their kiss and the desire to linger with them until dawn, wanting nothing more than to dream together.
The song ends with lyrics expressing the hope that the person singing the song will find sweet dreams until sunbeams find them. Again, the song asks the listener to dream of the singer, letting go of their worries and just dreaming a little dream of them.
