It’s been said, of all the things Forget the Whale has, a ‘sound’ is not one of them. It’s not that they have no sound: blues, rock, alternative, R&B, country, funk and nu-metal all become ingredients for Forget the Whale’s veritable witches’ brew. “Forget the Whale is the band to see,” was one auspicious comment that emerged from their debut showcase at Rolf’s Restaurant and Pub (Warren, NJ) in August of 2014. Since then, the four have taken their show on both banks of the Hudson, filling notable venues like The Bitter End in the Village and Brooklyn’s Matchless Bar in New York, and Crossroads and the Lamp Post in New Jersey.
Halfway Home
Forget The Whale Lyrics
Halfway Home
Well it’s a halfway home for broken-hearted souls
I know it’s tough
but if it matters all that much
I’ll get the door
Just leave your bags
because it doesn’t matter who we were before
A change of heart, your cup of tea, is what we serve and if you
wanted your cake, you could eat it too
Because it’s policy
Your story’s safe with me
Well it’s a halfway home for broken-hearted souls
And if you stop on by, there’re several who you know
If we have to we’ll make some room for you
And then after the past is through with you
You can answer the door for someone new
It’s such a gag
I bet it really is that bad
been there before
And when it seems that you have given all you’ve got
There’s so much more
An empty seat at the table, waiting for someone who’s more capable
than they had allowed themselves to be
Because there’s always room
I’ll save a seat for you
Well it’s a halfway home for broken-hearted souls
And if you stop on by, there’re several who you know
If we have to we’ll make some room for you
And then after the past is through with you
You can answer the door for someone new
A change of heart, your cup of tea is what we serve
and if you wanted your cake you can eat it too.
Well it’s a halfway home for broken-hearted souls
And if you stop on by, there’re several who you know
If we have to we’ll make some room for you
And then after the past is through with you
You can answer the door for someone new
