Founding members, started writing and recording a DIY Demo cd in late Summer 2001. They released the demo at their first show on October 12th 2001.
Playing their first out of town show in Sherbrooke with A Perfect Murder, x Radical Attack x and From Life To Death, they gained a solid reputation all around the Quebec province. In the next year they played many shows with these bands and others like A Death For Every Sin, Agnostic Front, 100 Demons, Walls Of Jericho and Comeback Kid. Also playing the Bloodfest in Montreal, in May 2003 with Ragmen, Subzero, Boxcutter, Never Say Die, Since The Flood and many others.
During the summer of 2003, Forsaken Trust went to the B-Side Studios in Montreal to record their first CD/EP, βBroken Promisesβ. The band solidified their lineup with new bassist, Chris Bonavia in December 2003, and released their EP on January 24th 2004.
In July of the same year, due to personal differences, the band decided it was best to call it quits. They played their last show at the Gatineau Hardcore Fest 2004 on September 11th. The members went on to form/join other local acts; Sazo (Chris B, Mario), Outnumbered (Chris L),My Sacrifice (Ben, Rich), ATFR (Rich).
On March 20th 2005, Forsaken Trust played a one-time reunion gig at Le Bop in Hull. With Chris L. and Rich having recently left their bands (Outnumbered and My Sacrifice, respectively)... Chris B. and Mario also without bands, they decided to get together and start playing again. They started jamming some NYHC type stuff, but they felt that there was something missing. The guys decided that it was time to put all the bullshit aside and go back to playing what they always liked in the first place: the hard-hitting style of Forsaken Trust.
Falling Apart
Forsaken Trust Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Seeking a way to stay in lies
Devour by this vision distorted
Blindness, nothing but pure satisfaction
Flying into your mind reaching the height of the sky
You're looking up to perceive your god
But by surprise you don't even reach the floor of the earth
In front of you the door is locked
Harmless, you're loosing your faith
Listened all conversation
The real problem is now invisible
Exausted you buried your life
A sign of cross, let the start begin
Prepare yourself to incarnate in a ghost
You will meet all the lost souls
Prepare yourself to incarnate in a ghost
You will meet all the lost souls
Take a new breath, Penetrate the other side
Realize, Realize what is the under life
You drop your throne, condemed to eternal life
I look at you and say there is no way out
The lyrics of Forsaken Trust's song "Falling Apart" speak about seeking a way to stay alive in the midst of a world filled with lies and deception. The vision of life is distorted and becomes a source of blindness where only pure satisfaction can be gleaned. Flying into your mind and reaching for the height of the sky, you look up to perceive your god, but fall short and don't even reach the floor of the earth. The door in front of you is locked, and as you listen to all conversations, the real problem is somehow invisible.
As time passes, you become exhausted and bury your life, taking a sign of the cross to let the start begin anew. You are now preparing yourself to incarnate in a ghost, meeting all the lost souls. You take a new breath and penetrate the other side, realizing what lies beneath the surface or under life. You drop your throne, condemned to eternal life, and there seems to be no way out.
The song's overall theme is one of despair and resignation, as the individual succumbs to the allure of the lies and deception in the world. There is a sense of hopelessness and futility as the individual is trapped in a world where nothing is real, and everything around them is a lie.

Fun Fact: that "boat repairman" in the Robert Meyer case (@17:30) is my dad, who helped Discovery with recruiting local casting when they shot this episode in my town over a decade ago. Also the guy who played Meyer was my middle school teacher.
Man, I've been waiting years for this channel to upload this episode. My dad had it recorded on an old VHS tape, but only his half of the episode. I'm so glad it's been preserved.

Fun!!

It's exciting, I had the pleasure of being an unpaid extra in Rocky 1 & 2 as well as a commercial way back when and the nature of my job allowed me to be on many television show and movie sets. These re-enactments and the actors are really awesome, kudos for your dad π π π π π

Cool!! How was the town impacted by this terrible crime? Was it a total shock, or was Meyer a known douche?
