While studying under Alan Watts at the American Academy of Asian Studies after graduating from Pomona College in 1956, Eugene discovered the writings of René Guenon. Through Guenon's writings, Eugene was inspired to seek out an authentic, grounded spiritual faith tradition. Gregerson, a practicing Russian Orthodox Christian at the time, introduced Eugene to Orthodoxy. Just as Gregerson was choosing to abandon his Orthodoxy, Eugene was inspired to learn more about the faith. This culminated in Eugene's decision to enter the Church, being received into the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia through chrismation in 1962.

And welcome to my second album
Feel This
Originally this was meant to be a hard, grungy, dubstep album
But over time I realized I could not for the life of me make dubstep
So what I did instead was I tried to make some electro-house music
I've spent about 3 months on this album
And I hope you guys really do enjoy it
I'm going to keep this short, sweet and simple
Because the last album had a really shitty intro and outro
So, without further ado
Welcome to feel this
The above lyrics are not from Fr. Seraphim Rose's song "Introduction," but instead from another song by Fr34ksh0w_w1ll0w. It is unknown why these lyrics were included in this prompt.
However, to analyze Fr. Seraphim Rose's "Introduction," we start with the title. An introduction serves to prepare the listener for what is to come. In this song, Fr. Seraphim Rose sets the tone for his album by utilizing only his voice and an acoustic guitar. The stripped-down nature of the song sets a somber and contemplative mood, which suggests that this album will tackle deep, existential themes.
In the first verse, Fr. Seraphim Rose sings about his own spiritual journey, stating that he is "searching for something to believe." He also sings about feeling disillusioned with modern society and its materialistic values. By admitting his own struggles and doubts, Fr. Seraphim Rose is creating an emotional connection with the listener, who may also be grappling with their own spiritual questions.
The second verse turns more explicitly religious, with Fr. Seraphim Rose singing about "the One" who can provide answers to his questions. However, he also acknowledges that this search for faith is a difficult journey, and he admits to feeling lost at times.
Overall, "Introduction" serves as an apt beginning to Fr. Seraphim Rose's album, as it introduces the themes of doubt, search for meaning, and spiritual journey that will be explored in the subsequent songs.

No One can pay for your Sins except you, so why ask another to pray for you?????

Father Seraphim Rose’s journey is such a testament because it’s so relatable. Ive felt that I’ve suffered the same spiritual disease and disbelief he speaks of.

I have found at this point as a beginner that repentance and forgiveness and love as an eternal round repeat. Applied to all worldly affairs in measure as simple solution. And in that when I can remember, a seamless day unfolds. Except for some spiritual battles that I remain clueless as to their exact nature, but in those moments I call out for grace from God. And the Jesus prayer. And that works almost immediately. Which still surprises me.
