From a young age, we are taught to conform to societal norms and be part of the larger group, fearing isolation.

Afraid, we might little and a part of our own
We are afraid that if we step away from the group, we will become insignificant and lose our sense of belonging.

So many people welcome home lately close
We often attract people who seem friendly and welcoming, but they quickly turn their backs on us and refuse to offer any support or connection.

Then turn at their heals to give nothing away
These same people who pretend to care about us quickly abandon us and refrain from offering any assistance or kindness.

Regrets accumulate over time and become a familiar presence in our lives.

Our regrets resurface to haunt us, forcing us to face our worst memories and experiences.
