Between the release of her debut album My Paper Heart and its follow-up Hundred More Years, Battistelli married Christian band percussionist Matthew Goodwin and gave birth to her first child, Matthew Elijah. According to the Hundred More Years songfacts Battistelli chose to title her sophomore record after the track "Hundred More Years" because the tune's subject matter of a couple falling in love and having their first child mimiced her own life. Hundred More Years was released on March 1, 2011.
Francesca Battistelli is no stranger to the stage. Raised by parents immersed in the arts and Broadway, she developed a love of music, theatre, and performance at a young age. But instead of using these talents for applause and accolades, Francesca prefers to point people to something beyond herself --towards hope in Christ. Her soulful piano-pop sound resembles a blend of her music interests -- jazz, rock, gospel and R&B -- woven beautifully together with themes of trust and risk-taking. In a noisy world filled with sounds and images, we cry out for an authentic voice--one who is not afraid to speak truth and purpose to a generation. In singer/songwriter Francesca Battistelli, we have found that voice.

Son of God and son of man
Heaven's glory in a manger
Has come to us in Bethlehem
Messiah
Messiah
A baby born to save us all
Messiah
On our knees we fall
All we longed for, all we needed
Shining in this child's eyes
Hope forever, death defeated
Because of this one holy night
Messiah
Messiah
A baby born to save us all
Messiah
Messiah
On our knees we fall
O come let us adore him
O come let us adore him
O come let us adore him
Christ the Lord
Long awaited precious promise
Coming back again
Messiah

A baby born to save us all
Messiah
Messiah
On our knees we fall
On our knees we fall

Blowing kisses to the viewers of the blow of affliction
thereโs a diction within infliction see you see me with all my dignity
seeing what Iโm doing everything inside brewing
I blow my kisses to you
not a whole lot you can do
when I try to love you
when I try to love you
when I try love you when I try love you
and you try to love you
You try to love you
You try to love you
Blowing kisses to me too
But when you try to love me
Not afraid of me I let the beast free canโt see you see virginity
Iโm afraid to be anything but me
Mercy the destiny to set the blow of affliction free
Youโre seeing what Iโm doing everything inside me brewing
See me how you want to see me
from nothing youโve done to me Iโll be dissonant
Blowing kisses to the viewers of the blow of affliction

Something about the words: "Heaven's glory in a manger" really hit me. What an extraordinarily humble thing God did for us. It's so amazing.

โDear Heavenly Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen
