Between the release of her debut album My Paper Heart and its follow-up Hundred More Years, Battistelli married Christian band percussionist Matthew Goodwin and gave birth to her first child, Matthew Elijah. According to the Hundred More Years songfacts Battistelli chose to title her sophomore record after the track "Hundred More Years" because the tune's subject matter of a couple falling in love and having their first child mimiced her own life. Hundred More Years was released on March 1, 2011.
Francesca Battistelli is no stranger to the stage. Raised by parents immersed in the arts and Broadway, she developed a love of music, theatre, and performance at a young age. But instead of using these talents for applause and accolades, Francesca prefers to point people to something beyond herself --towards hope in Christ. Her soulful piano-pop sound resembles a blend of her music interests -- jazz, rock, gospel and R&B -- woven beautifully together with themes of trust and risk-taking. In a noisy world filled with sounds and images, we cry out for an authentic voice--one who is not afraid to speak truth and purpose to a generation. In singer/songwriter Francesca Battistelli, we have found that voice.
Symphony

I knew I would never be the same.
And the moment he said hello
There was music playing soft and slow.
'Cause he gave me a reason
To sing every song.
But why can't he see it?
I thought he was everything,
So I gave him my hopes and dreams.
What happened to destiny?
And where is my symphony?
My heart fell to the ground
When it seemed that he had already found
Someone to sing his song
And she sings it real good,
But she'll never sing it
The way that I could.
'Cause he gives me a reason
To speak every word
But why can't he see it?
And hasn't he heard?
I thought he was everything,
So I gave him my hopes and dreams.
What happened to destiny?
And where is my symphony?
There should be strings and bells, and pianos too.
There should be nobody else but me and you.
There could have been laughter and flowers,
But you'll never know,
'Cause you couldn't hear my symphony,
Now where do I go?
I thought you were everything,
So I gave you my hopes and dreams.
What happened to destiny?
And where is my symphony?
The first time I saw his face
I knew I would never be the same.
Francesca Battistelli's "Symphony" is a reflective ballad about unrequited love. The song tells of the singer's experience encountering a man who inspires her to believe in destiny and gives her a reason to sing. Her admiration for him fuels her excitement about the possibility of something more, but the man ultimately fails to reciprocate her feelings. The singer is left feeling heartbroken, wondering if she'll ever find someone to sing her symphony, which represents her true and deepest emotions.
The chorus of the song speaks to the singer’s feelings by singing, "I thought he was everything, so I gave him my hopes and dreams. What happened to destiny? And where is my symphony?" The lyrics reference the idea of "destiny" and the unique and perfect harmony that can only come from two people who truly belong together. This particular person, however, has chosen someone else over the singer, creating a sense of disappointment and loss as they realize their "symphony" will remain unheard.
The overall message that comes through is one of vulnerability and an eagerness to find true love. Battistelli's vocals are particularly emotive, conveying a sense of longing and heartbreak. The song delivers a relatable message to anyone who has lost love or felt unrequited love.

I'm a follower of Jesus. Woman, mother of three. I'm producing a youtube channel and podcast named "dospozos" (in spanish). I was wondering if I could use this song in one of my videos since I'm talking about resting in Jesus through this times. Couldn't be more appropriate! THANK YOU

This song has nothing about self, which is accurate because most so called Christian rap songs, are always about here self. Or they're singing for the worker
@nalaguerrero1669
World is what I meant, not worker, auto correct, ya know

I am. I just found the good old Christian music I love from 2019. This is so deep music. Music now is not deeply rooted in God and His Word. I don’t like the music now.
