The 3:10 to Yuma
Frankie Laine Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I want to ride again on the 3.10 to yuma
That's where I saw my love
The girl with the golden hair
Not a word between us was spoken
No the silence never was broken
But before she left her eyes said a sad goodbye
Sad am I sad am I
To think of the chance that I missed
I could cry to think of the lips left unkissed

Perhaps she'll ride again on the 3.10 to yuma
And I can meet my love and tell her how much I care
Though I have no reason to go there
And there's not a soul that I know there

When the 3.10 to yuma leaves if I have the fare
I'll be there I'll be there I'll be there

Listening to this song makes me always very emotional. I was in a situation like this, and I was too shy and too fascinated to say a word and thought I would never see her again. The Lord had other plans, she is my wife and I enjoy every single moment with her for the last 20 years .

Hauntingly beautiful. Laine's voice was ideal for Westerns as was Marty Robbins.

@kattrakee

Rest in peace Frankie Laine, you gave us so much joy with your beautiful voice. Now singing with the Angels. 🎶🎵🎶🎶🎵🎶🎵🎵🎶

Nobody on earth can do those good old 'cowdy' songs like good old Frankie. Your voice has given me a lifetime of pleasures, Mr LoVecchio. God Bless.

I was talking to an Italian woman I met down in Cabo San Lucas. We were talking about singers and I told her my favorite singer was an Italian named Frank LoVecchio. I was trying to throw a curve at her but she said, "Oh you mean Frankie Laine." She said she was good friends with his cousins and had met him several times.

Everyone thinks that soundtrack lyrics are much better, and I agree that they are quite something, but this album 'love' version is also magnificent! Thanks for posting it!

@JamesS001

Hello Sonja, how is everything going with you?

@acla9000

So beautiful, and how tender and melancholic it is!! I know several songs recorded by Frankie Laine but it's the first time ever I listened to this one! Thanks!
