The band first experienced chart success when their second single "Take Me Out" reached #3 in the UK Charts, followed by their debut album Franz Ferdinand which entered the UK album chart at #3. The band went on to win the 2004 Mercury Music Prize and two BRIT Awards in 2005 for Best British Group and Best British Rock Act. NME named Franz Ferdinand as their Album of the Year. From the album, three top-ten singles were released, "Take Me Out", "The Dark of the Matinée" and "This Fire". The band has also received several Grammy Award nominations.
The band is named after Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria whose assassination was one of the main reasons for the start of the First World War. The band decided on the name after seeing a racehorse named Archduke Ferdinand win the Northumberland Plate in 2001, eventually coming to the decision as the alliteration and sound of the name appealed to them.

I can't stop feeling, no, I won't stop feeling
The fun's not fun anymore
I can't stop feeling, no, I won't stop feeling
And you leave me here on my own
You leave me here on the floor
You can't feel it
You can't feel it
You can't feel anymore
Feel anymore, feel anymore, feel anymore
The salt starts stinging again
I can't stop feeling, no, I won't stop feeling
Although we're not us anymore
I can't stop feeling, no, I won't stop
And you leave me dancing alone
Oh you leave me to die on the floor
You can't feel it
You can't feel it
You can't feel it
You can't feel anymore
Feel anymore, feel anymore
Feel anymore
So boy, you're down and alone
Your soul is broken again
But you can't stop moving
No, you won't stop moving along
You can't feel it
You can't feel it
You can't feel it
You can't feel anymore
(Can't feel it)
Anymore (can't feel it)
Anymore (can't feel it)
You can't feel anymore, anymore, anymore
You can't feel anymore
The lyrics of Franz Ferdinand's song Can't Stop Feeling express a feeling of emotional numbness and a desire to keep feeling something, anything, despite the pain. The imagery of salt stinging suggests tears, while the repetition of "I can't stop feeling" and "I won't stop feeling" emphasize the singer's determination to avoid becoming numb. The line "The fun's not fun anymore" suggests that the singer may have been using distractions or substances to avoid their emotions, but those methods are no longer effective. The repetition of "You can't feel it" suggests that the singer is addressing someone who has also become emotionally numb, which may be why they now feel alone and dancing alone. The last verse implies that perhaps the singer has experienced a similar emotional state and can empathize with the person they are addressing, encouraging them not to give up.
In general, this song is a meditation on the difficulty of processing and moving on from painful emotions. By repeating the key phrases "I can't stop feeling" and "You can't feel it" multiple times throughout the song, the singer emphasizes how hard it can be to break out of an emotional rut. But by the end of the song, the singer seems to have reached a place of acceptance and a belief that even when things are tough, you have to keep moving forward.
