1. Leslie Edward Pridgen (born March 24, 1977), better known by his stage name Freeway, is an American rapper. Freeway a.k.a. Philly Freeway began rapping while in high school. He later met fellow rapper Beanie Sigel, who would be signed to Roc-A-Fella and later help Freeway get a contract with the record label. Freeway became one of the label's most visible artists after making his first appearance on The Dynasty: Roc La Familia in 2000 and appearing on several other Roc releases before putting out his solo album, Philadelphia Freeway.
The album was produced primarily by Roc-A-Fella-affiliated artists--Just Blaze, Bink!, Kanye West--and featured mostly Roc-A-Fella rappers as well, many of them from State Property: a Philadelphia-based bunch of Roc members that Freeway and Beanie Sigel had compiled into a group. The album's biggest hit was What We Do, produced by Just Blaze and featuring Jay-Z & Beanie Sigel.
After relations between Beanie Sigel and State Property soured, whether he and Freeway are still friends is unclear. Though Beanie had said he didn't know if he'd work with State Property again, he was present at Jay-Z's I Declare War concert alongside Freeway.

Pulled up to the dealer, to get my wheels right
Homie asked me what colour I like
I wanted Cocaine White (That's Right)

He said 'Half a milli, that's about right'
Pulled out 5 cash, told him 'shine it up nice' (That's Right)

Uh, Yea, The games on and I've been here scoring
I've been world touring, I've been Clear Portin'
Get to the cash fast, like I'm Flash Gordon
Sick bling, six rings like I'm Air Jordan
Before all the Panel's, Beamer's and Porsche's
We was pushing pristine, we was less fortunate
The way I rose from the bottom, the people oughta pay me
Fried rice type, sugar water baby
From the hood, all my G's got felonies
They couldn't make it to the Army or the Navy
Real spit, I used to live my low paid life
That's why I need my whip Cocaine White
???
Pulled up to the dealer, to get my wheels right
Homie asked me what colour I like
I wanted Cocaine White (That's Right)
I wanted Cocaine White
He said 'Half a milli, that's about right'
Pulled out 5 cash, told him 'shine it up nice' (That's Right)

Disowned by my Mom's, a Cocaine grower
I'm on the box of Arm & Hammer though
Still the youngest in charge, I let the hammer go
I keep bitches for the long runs
And I fuck em in two's and make all cum
Grills mania, got em in Pennsylvania
For the low, ???
North side, stand up

"Cocaine White" by Freeway is a song that uses the metaphor of the color white to represent wealth, status, and success. The lyrics show the singer's desire to attain a luxurious lifestyle and the lengths he is willing to go to achieve it.
In the first verse, the song starts with the singer pulling up to a dealer to get his wheels right. He is asked what color he prefers, and he confidently chooses "Cocaine White." The term "Cocaine White" symbolizes a high-end, pristine white color associated with luxury vehicles. He is willing to pay a significant amount, indicated by the line, "He said 'Half a milli, that's about right.'" The singer pulls out a large sum of cash and tells the dealer to shine his car up nicely, reinforcing his desire for perfection and extravagance.
Freeway's verse emphasizes his journey from humble beginnings to achieving fame and wealth. He is proud of his success and the ability to live a life filled with opulence. Freeway draws parallels between his rise to the top and the success of athletes like Michael Jordan, using "six rings" as a representation of their domination in their respective fields. He talks about starting from the bottom and needing a "whip Cocaine White" to signify his desire to leave behind his past and embrace his newfound success.
Fat Joe's verse adds an element of caution and distrust around the theme of luxury. He warns about the dangers of dealing with the authorities and advises against associating with them. The line "Them folks ain't right, keep talking to the Feds" suggests that getting involved with the wrong people can lead to detrimental consequences. Fat Joe also refers to his own background as a cocaine grower and highlights his ability to handle a "hammer," implying he is not to be taken lightly.
The closing verse by an unidentified artist continues the theme of striving for success and having a lavish lifestyle. The focus is on unity and empowerment within a community, highlighting the talent and uniqueness of the group. The lyrics allude to triumphant moments and celebrations, symbolized by the presence of champagne and extravagant penthouses. The repeated phrase "Cocaine White" at the end of the song acts as a mantra reinforcing the desire for a flawless and perfect life.
Overall, "Cocaine White" explores the aspirations for material wealth and success, using the color white as a metaphor for a luxury lifestyle. The lyrics also touch on the challenges and risks that come with pursuing such a life, cautioning against negative influences and emphasizing the importance of unity and talent within a community.
