Dream a little dream

Life has been beautiful, we have been young
After you've gone, life will go on
Like an old song we have sung
When I grow too old to dream
I'll have you to remember
When I grow too old to dream
So, kiss me my sweet
And so let us part
And when I grow too old to dream
That kiss will live in my heart
And when I grow too old to dream
That kiss will live in my heart
So, kiss me my sweet
And so let us part
And when I grow too old to dream
That kiss will live in my heart
The lyrics in "Dream a Little Dream" by Fret and Fiddle paint a picture of young love and the lingering feelings that remain long after. The first few lines express a sense of joy and fulfillment in life while being young and carefree. However, the following lyrics suggest a fear of what happens when that youthfulness fades away and life moves on, leaving behind only memories of what once was. The line "After you've gone, life will go on, like an old song we have sung" conveys the idea that even though the feeling of love may be gone, life will continue on as before.
The next set of lyrics adds a sense of longing and nostalgia to the song. The repetition of the phrase "When I grow too old to dream" gives the sense that the singer may be looking back at their life and realizing that they can no longer attain what they once had. However, the love they shared with their partner will never fully leave them, as they will always remember the feeling of their love, no matter how old they get.
The last set of lyrics expresses a sense of closure and acceptance in parting ways. The line "And so let us part" suggests that they are saying goodbye to the youthfulness and love they once shared, but they will always hold onto the memory of it. The final line "That kiss will live in my heart" conveys the idea that the love they once shared will never truly fade away, as it will always hold a special place in their heart.

We have been gay, going our way
We have been happy, living our lives on our own terms
Life has been beautiful, we have been young
Our lives have been wonderful so far, and we have enjoyed our youth to the fullest
After you've gone, life will go on
Even after you leave my life, life will continue as it always has
Like an old song we have sung
Our experiences together will always be remembered like a favorite old song
When I grow too old to dream
Eventually, as I age, my ability to dream and imagine will fade
I'll have you to remember
But I will always have memories of you to cherish
Your love will live in my heart
The love you have given me will always be kept close to my heart
So, kiss me my sweet
Before we must say goodbye, give me one last kiss
And so let us part
And then it will be time for us to go our separate ways
And when I grow too old to dream
As I continue to age, my ability to dream will fade further
That kiss will live in my heart
But that last kiss we shared will always be remembered in my heart
And when I grow too old to dream
Even if I can no longer dream or imagine,
That kiss will live in my heart
That last kiss will remain a cherished memory, always

What a nice change up! Cool EGuitar work and beautiful voice Ansley has. We need to hear more of her singing! Thanks for the video!

Ansley has always seemed to be reluctant to do vocals, but just WOW! That vocal is so smooth and powerful. Heartfelt I am sure. I knew Lincoln was very versatile on other instruments beside his great banjo specialty. But, Wow for Lincoln too. More, more!
Gordon Fleming.
Wow! What a double. Aynsley, you can sing as well as you can play the fiddle. Such a beautiful voice. I could listen to you sing often accompanied by Lincoln Hensley. More, please.

OK! This is for me very much like the first time I realized that the great Stuart Duncan also had a awesome voice, Ms. Porchak. YES, Aynsley... I use your name in the same sentence as Mr. Duncan (my all time favorite musician)! . I've never heard you do a lead and I think I have watched most, if not all, of your vids. You do backup exceedingly well... but this really helped make my weekend. Keep singing y'all! Lincoln, as always you are a gifted musical genius! Thank you to whoever decided to do this in black and white. I LOVE the vintage RCA mike! God bless you both on this beautiful autumn day here in Richmond.
