Savior
From This Fire Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
'Cause his life was marked with love
His head was marked with thorns
And the temple veil was torn
His brow was marked with sweat
The warrior to pay our debt
A sword had pierced his side
Call his name and you'll be alive
You can see the mark of the savior
It's in your eyes
You can know the mark of the savior
It's in your life
It's in your eyes
It's in your life
It's in the way you're ready
To lay down your life
The blind were made to see
On the shores of Galilee
The lame walked once and for all
He is there if you heed the call
You can see the mark of the savior
It's in your eyes
You can know the mark of the savior
It's in your life
It's in your eyes
It's in your life
It's in the way you're ready
To lay down your life
Keep pressing on; sing it loud and strong
Your victory song
You can see the mark of the savior
It's in your eyes
You can know the mark of the savior
It's in your life
You can see the mark of the savior
It's in your eyes
You can know the mark of the savior
It's in your life
It's in your eyes
It's in your life
It's in the way you're ready
To lay down your life
In "Savior," From This Fire addresses the sacrifice of Jesus and the symbolism behind His actions. The first few lines describe the bodily marks that Jesus acquired on His journey to save humanity. His hands were marked with blood, His head was marked with thorns, and His brow was marked with sweat. The song suggests that Jesus is a warrior who conquered death in order to pay everyone's debt. The line that reads, "A sword had pierced his side" refers to the spear thrust into Jesus' side as a way of confirming His death.
The next verse addresses the miracle healing that Jesus performed during His time on earth. Those who were blind could see and the lame were made to walk. The song implies that these miracles are evidence of the mark of the savior. In other words, those who have truly been touched by the Savior will have that change reflected in their own lives. The song ends by saying that the mark of the savior is in the way you're ready to lay down your life, emphasizing the ultimate sacrifice that Jesus made.

This Band has being consistent for more than 3 decades is not fair they are still underrated
@300SonsofOdin
Agreed. And they have some absolute banger tracks as well! No gym session would be complete without "Omega Man" to lift as heavy as I can.
@kino-seezone4495
Last few albums should be rated as pure heavy, not power. Iron Savior came Accept l-1. Should they?
