Their peculiar brand of politically driven retro-pop made an impression on the British pop charts during 1981-1982. Their biggest hit was Our lips are sealed, a retread of Go-go's 1981 song, which was co-written by Terry Hall. Other well-known tracks include The Lunatics (Have Taken Over The Asylum) and T'ain't What You Do (Its The Way That You Do It), recorded with the fledgling all-girl group Bananarama.
Fun Boy Three's music draws on influences such as vintage soul, ska, reggae, muzak and kitsch movie soundtracks.
The band split-up in 1984, and Terry hall went on to perform solo and also form The Colourfield.
The More I See

Is like the first time
Each time you′re near me
The thrill is new
And there is nothing
That I wouldn't do for
The rare delight of the sight
Of you for
The more I want you
Somehow this feeling
Just grows and grows
With every sigh
I become more mad
About you
More lost without you
And so it goes
Can you imagine how much I love you?
The more I see you as years go by
I know the only one for me can only be you
My arms won′t free you, my heart won't try
I know the only one for me
Can only be you
My arms won't free you
My heart won′t try
The lyrics of Fun Boy Three’s “The More I See You” is a love song about someone who can’t get enough of the person they love. Each time the person sees them, it’s like the first time, and each time they are near, the feeling of excitement is new. The person is so in love that nothing they wouldn’t do for the rare and precious sight of their lover. As the years go by, the feeling of love only grows stronger, with every sigh, they become more and more mad about the person they love, lost without them. The song ends with the person declaring that the only one for them can only be their lover, they won’t try to let them go.
Overall, the song is about the power and beauty of love. The simple phrase, “The more I see you,” transforms into a powerful statement of the depth and constancy of the character’s love for their beloved. The use of language such as “rare delight” and “new thrill” emphasizes the importance of love in life.

the lyrics, that bass (when turned loud) and The Godly ghostly voice of Terry sends shivers down my whole nervous system everytime i hear it, Terry has blown my head off metaphorically in so many songs, one of the gods amongst men, turned his abuse as a child into a positive and not a negative, or more so into a power. Long into the future if people look back at the 70s and 80s as being the best pop music eras ever then they will be on the right path, music to last eternity. Things don't age when they are original and sound timeless and the lyrics are relevant as Terrys always are.

What a sad day, the day he passed. Struck a chord in the hearts of many of us younger generation in that day. Privileged to have heard and enjoyed his music.

Im from Belfast, i met the guys when i was on holiday in Isle of Man around the time the song came out. Had a chat about the lyrics, they came across like they really cared about NI. Absolute gentlemen. RIP Terry. Saw Neville's gig with the Undertones in Belfast last night. A great show 👏👏👏

Loved seeing David Byrne from Talking Heads there as the weather man at the end there. He produced Waiting, the second FB3 Album in which this was the first single released from it.
