They sing in English and Spanish, often mixing both languages in a single song or even line. Human and animal rights are frequent subjects in their lyrics. The band mixes punk music with other genres such as reggae, pop, tango, thrash metal and others.
As the band became well known, skinheads who enjoyed the band's aggressive music in a violent way started to show up at concerts, prompting singer Nekro to call the band's genre Antifascist gay hardcore in an attempt to get rid of those fans. For this reason Fun People is sometimes confused as queercore.
Early on, the band was called Anesthesia (as a tribute to Cliff Burton). When the band was about to release their first album, planned to be self-titled, they found out someone else had already copyrighted Anesthesia as a band name. Fun People, the name of a fanzine Nekro made and sold at the band's concerts, was chosen as the band's new name and Anesthesia remained as the album's title.

nobody cuold hear me
(along these years)
What you need is affection
How much i need it,oh,yeah
Take over,take over
(taking it all upon me)
nobody can stop me
(along these years)
Why father if you knew it
you didn't come to me?
take over......
Hey,marcelo/jose, soy papa, estas ahi?
feel me like a father
like a friend
you show me,dad
you show me now
The lyrics of Fun People's "Take Over" is a powerful cry for help, a call to those who are lost and seeking help but finding themselves unable to be heard or understood. The lyrics convey a sense of isolation and despair, a feeling of being alone and powerless. The repetition of "nobody can stop me, nobody could hear me" emphasizes the singer's desperation and frustration at not being able to connect with anyone.
The lyrics also express a longing for affection and connection, as the singer asks "what you need is affection, how much I need it." This desire to be loved and understood is a universal human emotion, and the song captures it in a raw and emotional way.
The final lines of the song address the singer's father, asking why he did not come to help. The lyrics suggest a strained relationship between father and son, with the singer feeling abandoned and alone. The plea to "feel me like a father, like a friend" speaks to the fundamental need for human connection and support.
Overall, "Take Over" is a powerful and moving song that captures the struggles of loneliness, isolation, and the need for human connection.
