In 2007, the band announced the release of a career-spanning retrospective called "Don't look back", to be accompanied by a tour. Following the completion of that tour in late August 2008, the group entered an indefinite hiatus.
The brothers Wingenfelder reformed as Wingenfelder & Wingenfelder and have released three albums and a b-sides album, with plans record a fourth in 2017. Rainer Schumann released a solo album under the name Schumann. Christof Stein formed Wohnraumhelden and has released three albums under that name.
In 2016, the band reformed for their 30th anniversary, and released a new track. Additional new tracks were included in the band's new retrospective "30 - The Ultimate Best Of Collection."

Easy way
Fury In The Slaughterhouse Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Dreaming of rebirth It stumbles into a lapdance bar
Cheerio we say : we live our life the easy way
Cheerio We say: We live our life the easy way
But the world is broke no dollar bills to please girls can«t afford a coke the bouncer kicks it out into the night
Cheerio We say : We live our life the easy way
The lyrics of Fury In The Slaughterhouse's song Easy way tells the story of individuals who are living their lives the easy way. The first verse talks about how the good old earth is breaking into pieces, which refers to the worsening of the planet due to climate change, pollution, and other environmental issues. The individuals in the song, however, seem to be indifferent to this, as they dream of rebirth while stumbling into a lapdance bar.
The chorus, "Cheerio we say: we live our life the easy way," is a sarcastic remark, as the individuals acknowledge that they are choosing to take the easy way out and not face the challenges of the world head-on. The second verse talks about the broken world, where there are no dollar bills to please, and some cannot even afford a coke. The bouncer kicks them out into the night, highlighting the harsh reality that individuals face when they are unable to keep up with the demands of the world.
The chorus repeats, emphasizing that the individuals will continue to live their lives the easy way, drinking as much as they can pay for. The song is a commentary on how many individuals choose to ignore the problems of the world and opt for a life of pleasure and ease.
