After releasing a series of moderately successful mixtapes between 2010 and 2011, Future signed a major label deal with Epic Records and fellow American rapper Rocko's A1 Recordings, which helped launch his own label imprint Freebandz. Future subsequently began working on his debut studio album "Pluto," and in April 2012 released the album to positive reviews. The album spawned five singles, all of which charted on the Billboard Hot 100. The album was later re-released in November, as "Pluto 3D." His second studio album "Honest," was released on April 22, 2014, and is also performing with his group Freeband Gang. He released his highly anticipated third studio album, "DS2," on July 16, 2015. The Atlanta rapper also released several mixtapes during 2015, "Beast Mode" in January, "56 Nights" in March, and "What a Time to Be Alive (with Drake)" in September. Future released "Purple Reign" in January 2016. The 13-track mixtape was executive produced by Metro Boomin and DJ Esco, with additional production from Southside, Zaytoven, and more.

Talkin' 'bout hydraulic money, yeah
Money comin' in
Tell me what's the program
Twenty-five bags of Kush

Shawty want that wave

What's the program
Throwing through the yay
What's the program
Fucking up the check

In Future’s song Program, he boasts about his success and wealth, emphasizing his disregard for traditional societal norms and expectations. The opening lines express his confidence and ambition, implying that he and his team are soon to make a significant profit, introducing the concept of “hydraulic money.” Throughout the song, Future continues to indicate the sheer amount of money he has and how he chooses to use it, constantly questioning what the program is, as in what he should do next with his wealth. He references buying 25 bags of Kush, shopping extravagantly, and throwing cash around while simultaneously dismissing any fear of consequences or judgment.
In the latter half of the song, Future mentions his close relationships with his friends and the unwavering bond he has with his money and trap lifestyle. Future’s lyrics indicate that he deploys his riches to attract and enjoy sexual experiences and possessions as he pleases, even when exceeding control or morality. The song ultimately is a reflection of Future’s braggadocious persona, emphasizing his success, wealth, and lack of concern for others’ opinions or criticism.
