After releasing a series of moderately successful mixtapes between 2010 and 2011, Future signed a major label deal with Epic Records and fellow American rapper Rocko's A1 Recordings, which helped launch his own label imprint Freebandz. Future subsequently began working on his debut studio album "Pluto," and in April 2012 released the album to positive reviews. The album spawned five singles, all of which charted on the Billboard Hot 100. The album was later re-released in November, as "Pluto 3D." His second studio album "Honest," was released on April 22, 2014, and is also performing with his group Freeband Gang. He released his highly anticipated third studio album, "DS2," on July 16, 2015. The Atlanta rapper also released several mixtapes during 2015, "Beast Mode" in January, "56 Nights" in March, and "What a Time to Be Alive (with Drake)" in September. Future released "Purple Reign" in January 2016. The 13-track mixtape was executive produced by Metro Boomin and DJ Esco, with additional production from Southside, Zaytoven, and more.

He highlights their fake and empty swagger, calling out their tendencies to speak of popping tags, uncorking a hundred bottles, flashing guns but never firing them, and throwing money at women without actually enjoying sex with them. He mocks these individuals for being false and for becoming part of a spectacle that only guarantees failure and for often not following through on the narrative they present.
Future calls out those who try to project a luxurious image by boasting about the possessions they do not have. He calls out the notion of buying luxury items to impress others, especially women, whom he calls out as "hoes." Furthermore, the same people can speak about gun violence, but not own up to it or show evidence of using their guns, portraying an image of themselves that is not authentic. Finally, he points out that rappers believe they are untouchable in their expensive cars with heavy security, but this sense of invincibility is also a projected image.
Overall, Future uses "Sh!t" as an opportunity to criticize people who project a luxurious image of themselves that is not necessarily authentic. In his view, it is more authentic to earn what you want, protect people you care about, and live up to what you represent, and be straightforward with who you are.

I still don't get how in people's head, music is just about the lyrics. Just listening to lyrics has a name, it's called poetry. ''Shit lyrics = shit song''. That's not true.
I listen to most of my songs because of the beat, and to be honest, I prefer nowadays rappers than to rappers like Tupac or Biggie, because I just prefer the beat.
It's just that these days, hip hop is now more about the beat than the lyrics. People get angry because they just rap about hoes, money, more bitches, weed, success, popularity, and all, but they emphasize on the beat, but hell, they still need to rap, so they just use lyrics that could be written by a 6 years old with Tourette's, but it sounds good. Now even rappers with actually good lyrics have a good beat, like Eminem by exemple.
Of course, I totally understand that some people almost just listen to lyrics in a song, but I don't understand how it makes us bad, stupid, and people who have no taste in music because we like it for a different reason.
