frankly, i don't like this video since this is too flashy and ostentatious against the deep meanings in this song. but i could not find any other you tube. so just listen to the song. i'll send you others some other day.

is just amazing!!! i am 56 years old neva heard this woman!!! but when i was i sweden in 2011 i was on your tube by chance i heard her singing it was like CLEOPATRA singing....!!!......... was a special moment.....strange enough why the world does NOT know her??!! folks are busy with lady gaga and rappers etc

I just discovered Laura Fygi by accident and wondered how I've never heard of this extraordinary singer---I liked this song the first time I heard it sung by Johnny Mathis but Laura does it soooo much better---I think she's the best female vocalist I've ever heard---bar none i.e. J. London, E. Gorme, C. Dieon. D. Krall, B. Streisand, E. Fitzgerald, S. Vaughan, A. Baker, or all the greats of the pass and the list could go on and on---her Jobim renditions far surpasses any other Brazilian singers and although I can appreciate her perfomance with a full orchestra, I think I would really enjoy her style of singing with just a small lounge trio where you get her true singing talent without it being masked by all the instruments of a full orchestra---aaaaaand, to think that she's no spring chicken either---she's 59---kudos to Priapus 56 as I can relate to what he said about lying in a dark room hearing Laura's voice coming over the air waves----------

I was just told of this one, and here I am. So totally enjoyable. Laura knows just how much to give a song. She keeps it so natural and so personal. This is what sets her apart from all the screamers like Celine and Streisand. Let's simply say Laura Fygi sings right to me.

De Oliveira Obligada Leticia! i am glad you like this song. she is a dutch jazz vocalist and i like her a lot. laura has uma bela voz ( i learned these words from your comment!) and her voice is indeed attractive in the sense, for me, that i feel as if i was embraced by her warm voice whenever i listen to her. you too have a very good taste for music, Leticia. i noticed it long time ago as i told you. for some reason, we have some common character to share with even if we are half-a-world apart, haven' we? i hope it will do good for both of us. tenha um o'timo dia ! , and let me hear soon that you have completely recovered! (^-^)

by the way, do you know that the first
westerner who had arrived in japan islands is the portuguese ? i don't remember specifically but we are using some portuguese words as japanese words.

Essa música bonita a partir de agora é muito especial pra mim, pois você me enviou com muito carinho. ela tem uma bela voz Naoki! você aprendeu, mesmo! Para mim é surpreendente, pois você é a primeira pessoa que eu converso sem ao menos conhece-lo pessoalmente, e eu acabei também percebendo que temos algo em comum, mesmo estando tão distantes um do outro, podemos entre nós compartilhar nossas canções e eu fico muito feliz por isso e também por você ter aprendido um pouco o português vendo os meus comentários, mas devo-lhe dizer uma regra, Naoki, sobre a palavra obrigado, você é um homem, então, quando você disser esta palavra, diga sempre com a vogal "O" no final a vogal "A" no final são só para mulheres, porem, às vezes algumas mulheres também falam com a vogal "O". às vezes me pego falando com a vogal "o", mais não é o certo. Por eu ter escrito essa palavra usando as duas formas de dizer, consequentemente, eu devo ter confundido você, então eu resolvi lhe dizer esta regra para que saiba o certo. A linguagem portuguesa é muito complicada, até mesmo para os próprios brasileiros. Mais pelo o que eu vejo, você vai aprender rápido! Naoki, eu queria fazer-lhe uma pergunta, pois, eu vi que você colocou a letra U no final da palavra arigato, por isso eu coloquei também no comentário, mais eu sempre vi esta palavra somente com a letra O, tem alguma diferença?
Eu não sabia disso. O alfabeto japonês é tão diferente. Que palavras vocês falam em português?

De Oliveira Obligado, Leticia! i learned from you about the word's difference between the masculine and the feminine, so i will follow your advice and pay more attention not to make mistakes in the usage. Now, for 'arigatou', the ending 'tou' is in fact correct but when people say 'arigatou', it easily sounds like 'arigato' because the last sound 'u' is usually so weakly uttered. this is the reason why nowadays people say 'arigato' all over the world although in writing we never describe it as 'arigato' in the japanese. when you say or write in roman letters, it is all right to describe 'arigato' or 'arigatou', either way, and everyone understands. as you know, the japanese alphabets are totally different from yours. we have 46 or 47 alphabets, and 'to' and 'u' are respectively one different alphabet. if fact so many alphabets! so we must be a very complex people ,aren´t we !?
now about the portuguese words we are using so naturally as japanese words
in our daily life. you know when we eat something hot, or something which leaves a sting on your tongue, we say 'oh! this tastes ' piripiri ' ! i heard once from a portuguese that this word is in fact a portuguese, not a japanese word to our surprise ! another example i think (?) is the word ' bin ' which means ' bottle' in the japanese. is this a portuguese word and the meaning the same? (this might be a dutch word though..? ). the first visitor to japan was the portuguese, followed by dutch, then by british, french, russian, and american, so there are a number of foreign words being used as the japanese and we take it for granted that all those are the japanese.

Naoki, obrigada pela explicação! agora eu sei que posso usar as duas palavras. Eu acho muito difícil decorar todos os alfabetos japoneses, é muito complicado! eu acho bonita, aquelas letras que são cheias de traços eu acho que se chama kanji. Eu não sei como você consegue decorar isso tudo. Aqui no Brasil, os japoneses tem a fama de serem muito inteligentes, quando alguém inventa algo novo, as pessoas aqui logo falam: foi um japonês, só pode ter sido um japonês, se não foi um japonês, então deve ter sido um americano. Eu também falo isso :) O português brasileiro é um pouco diferente ele teve a influência dos muitos imigrantes. Você sabe, o Brasil é multirracial. Temos algumas palavras em que o significado é diferente do português de Portugal por exemplo: A palavra " camisola" para os portugueses, é todo tipo de camisa que se usa, para nós brasileiros seria um vestido feminino para dormir. Tem algumas palavras que nós brasileiros utilizamos, que não são as mesmas utilizadas em Portugal. Há momentos em que não consigo acompanhar e entender quando um Português fala muito rápido, o sotaque é muito carregado e a minha sensação é que os portugueses eliminam algumas vogais quando pronunciam as palavras. Aqui quando comemos algo quente, nós não falamos "piripiri"! nós falamos Ah! esta quente "aaa"! ou "aaii"! ou "aiaiai"!, nós sempre dizemos vogais. Nós também não falamos a palavra "bin". Esta não é uma palavra, portuguesa. Pelo menos aqui no Brasil, nunca falamos essa palavra.
Ah... eu quase ia me esquecendo, Naoki, não se esqueça da letra "R" da palavra "obrigado" é muito importante. Cuide-se muito bem e um abraço! (^_^)
