After Rain
G&T Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Hearing the refrain
Washed up by the rain
Hopeless and low
Silly stories and life goes on
Stand there till the end
Is there enough time to wait
Useless and low
Boring stories and life goes on
So give me reasons to ignore it
If I stuck hard on it, will you sit quiet?
A couple of different ends to the stories
If I stuck hard on it, will you sit quiet?

Maybe you will complain, how quiet you go on it

Thinking about the changes
How quiet you go, I stuck hard on it and you sit quiet!

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of G&T's song "After Rain" speak of the aftermath of a storm, both literally and metaphorically. The rain has washed away everything, leaving the singer feeling hopeless and low. They stand there, unsure of what to do next, their mind flooded with useless and boring stories. In this state, the singer appeals to someone else for help and asks for reasons to ignore their current situation. They wonder if this person will sit quietly and watch them struggle, or if they will actively help.

The repetition of "life goes on" emphasizes the mundanity of everyday life, even in the face of something as dramatic as a storm. The singer seems to be grappling with the idea that life will continue, regardless of the struggles they face. They also recognize that there are multiple possible endings to their story, and they may need someone else's perspective to help them choose the best path forward.

Overall, the lyrics of "After Rain" convey a sense of confusion and vulnerability, but also a willingness to find hope and optimism in the midst of difficult circumstances.

Iceman Can't Cook

Every holiday that I host, I try to make my mother-in-law a cocktail, and from a genetic standpoint, her entire family are horrible people that don't like too many things... G&T is her favorite cocktail with well gin, but I think this purple one could finally be something she might enjoy. Great pour trick too! Very lab-like, but that's why they do that.

Booze On The Rocks

I hope this one works out for you. And I'm glad you liked the trick.

I like to use the flowers, they are a natural indicator for the pH value. For those wanting this but not spending money on the empress gin, just buy some dried flowers they get sold as a tea. A simple infusion with the gin of your choice and there you go. Btw buy the flowers not the powder, you want to get the flowers out later and the powder would mean you have to use a filter afterwards, generally I had bad results and bought the dried flowers again. It makes for a real cool effect, that you get even without the lime.

That’s my favourite drink. The lime with the Empress brings out all the lovely notes and flavours. Squeezing a small wedge into the drink - fantastic ❤ ❤ ❤

Booze On The Rocks

Hi Sharon, it does work really well together., I agree.
