Driver
G.Adam Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
100MPH, what's it to you
Don't feel to bad and just let it slide
I'll slow things down on the other side
Take it in, let it go
Kick it back and enjoy the show
When we were young and so easy to amuse
I never thought we'd see the end
It still hasn't come to me my friend
Take it in, let it go
Kick it back and enjoy the show
Don't let this old old bring you down
You can never lose when you spin
Round and round and round and round
Take it in, let it go
Kick it back and enjoy the show
Enjoy the show
In "Driver," G.Adam explores the concept of living life in the fast lane and the need to slow down and enjoy the present moment. The opening lines, "Living fast ain't hard to do, 100MPH, what's it to you," suggest that the singer is embracing a fast-paced lifestyle without much concern for the consequences. They are not bothered by their actions and encourage others to let things slide and not take everything too seriously. However, in the following lines, the singer alludes to the idea that there is another side to life, where things slow down and become more contemplative and introspective. They acknowledge the need to take a step back and appreciate the beauty and simplicity of life.
The chorus of the song captures the essence of the message. It encourages the listener to soak in their surroundings, let go of worries, and fully embrace the present moment. The phrase "kick it back and enjoy the show" emphasizes the importance of being present and finding joy in life's experiences.
The second verse shifts the focus to the singer's personal experiences and reflections. The line "My tired eyes never told the truth" implies that the singer may have put on a facade in the past, pretending to be fine when they were really tired and struggling. They mention their youthful days, when they were easily entertained, but express surprise at how quickly time has passed. The lyric "I never thought we'd see the end, it still hasn't come to me my friend" suggests a sense of uncertainty and the realization that life is unpredictable.
Overall, "Driver" encourages the listener to appreciate the present, let go of worries, and find joy in the journey of life.

Someone to hold me too close.
Someone to hurt me too deep.
Someone to sit in my chair,
And ruin my sleep,
And make me aware,
Of being alive.
Being alive.
Somebody need me too much.
Somebody know me too well.
Somebody pull me up short,
And put me through hell,
And give me support,
For being alive.
Make me alive.
Make me alive.
Make me confused.
Mock me with praise.
Let me be used.
Vary my days.
But alone,
Is alone,
Not alive.
Somebody crowd me with love.
Somebody force me to care.
Somebody let me come through,
I'll always be there,
As frightened as you,
To help us survive,
Being alive.
Being alive.
Being alive!

Someone to hold you too close,
Someone to hurt you too deep,
Someone to sit in your chair,
To ruin your sleep.
[Adam making all voices]
That's true, but there's more to it than that.
Is that all you think there is to it?
You've got so many reasons for not being with someone, but
Robert, you haven't got one good reason for being alone.
Come on, you're on to something, Bobby. You're on to something.
Someone to need you too much,
Someone to know you too well,
Someone to pull you up short
And put you through hell.
You see what you look for, you know. You're not a kid anymore, Robby. I don't think you'll ever be a kid again, kiddo.
Being alive
Being alive
Being alive!
Blow out the candles, Robert, and make a wish. Want something!
Want something!
Somebody, hold me too close,
Somebody, hurt me too deep,
Somebody, sit in my chair
And ruin my sleep
And make me aware
Of being alive,
Being alive.
Somebody, need me too much,
Somebody, know me too well,
Somebody, pull me up short
And put me through hell
And give me support
For being alive,
Make me alive
Make me alive.
Make me confused,
Mock me with praise,
Let me be used,
Vary my days.
But alone is alone, not alive.
Somebody, crowd me with love,
Somebody, force me to care,
Somebody, make me come through,
I'll always be there,
As frightened as you,
To help us survive
Being alive,
Being alive,
Being alive!

@mike.marziliano24601
Jake S Adam Driver is a professional singer though. He’s done stuff on Broadway. He did this just as that character.
@christianrainey6686
7mwM Mike J. Marziliano he said in a interview that he’s not a single, that he was in a musical in high school where was a villager
He does nottttt pride himself as a singer at all
@mike.marziliano24601
Christian Rainey really? I remember reading something that said he did something on Broadway recently. Strange
@lytaquiroz1524
And its even better when is done by a great actor... this is not on the singing, that is good, but its on the performance, thats brilliant
@mariasoares801
@@mike.marziliano24601 Broadway doesn't necessarily mean musical. He did a play called Burn This last year
@francescolapietra930
How sad is it that so much people knows him just as "that star wars dude". He is one of the best actors around these days, and he was unbelievable in this movie
@NeroTP
If not the Best, the guy is God tier actor in lot of styles
@commanderjeans5675
Yeah, to put him in the spotlight as the guy who kills Han Solo is kinda harsh. I have grown to love and respect him as an actor AND as a human being. I was happily surprised to catch him in an Indie movie last week.
@Angela-gn8vj
Well first time I saw him was in Star Wars, but I liked so much his acting skills and his look, that I looked for more of his movies and I became a fan, he's such a fantastic actor!
