I'm sitting here lonely like a broken man
I serve my time doin' the best I can
Walls and bars they surround me
But, I don't want no sympathy

No baby, no baby
All I need is some tender lovin'
To keep me sane in this burning oven
And, when my time is up, you'll be my reefer

Life gets worse on God's green earth
Be my reefer, got to keep smokin' that thing
No, no, no, no, no, no
No, no, no, no, no, no, no

I said now baby, baby let me smoke it smoke it
Makes me feel good feel good, yes, I feel good ah
Yes, I feel alright (feel alright) yes, I feel alright (I feel alright)
Yes, I feel alright ah
Oh

Ice cold water is runnin' through my veins
They try and drag me back to work again
Pain and blisters on my mind and hands
I work all day making up burlap bags

The oats they're feeding me are driving me wild
I feel unhappy like a new born child
Now, when my time is up, you wait and see
These walls and bars won't keep that stuff from me

No, no, baby
Won't keep that stuff from me
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
No, no, no, no, no, no, no

I need you right now mama
I need you right now baby
Right by my side, honey
All night long

Make me feel alright
Yes, yes, yes

You better come on up and get down with me
I'll make you feel real good, just you wait and see

Make me feel alright yes, I feel alright
Yes, yes, yes, alright

Overall Meaning

"Inside Looking Out" by Grand Funk Railroad is a song about the desperation of prison life. The first verse sets the stage for the song, with the singer expressing his loneliness and his willingness to serve his time in prison. He is surrounded by walls and bars, but he doesn't want any sympathy. Instead, he just wants some tender loving care to keep him sane in the oppressive environment. When his time is up, he wants his lover to be waiting for him to provide him with the comfort he needs.

The second verse paints a picture of the harsh conditions of prison life. The singer is forced to work all day making burlap bags, and he is fed oats that drive him wild. He feels trapped and unhappy, like a newborn child. The repetition of "no, no, no" at the end of each verse emphasizes the sense of desperation and hopelessness that comes with being in prison.

The chorus is a cry for help, a desperate plea for his lover to come to his aid. The singer needs someone to help him through the tough times, and he promises to make them feel good in return. The song ends on a note of hope, with the promise of a better future outside of prison.

Back in the late 80' we ran a small air charter business out of on of the small towns about 60 miles from the GC. Back then, we were allowed to fly below the canyon rim and did so several times a week for many years. The customers lived to be able to see the canyon walls from that perspective! We have seen large cave openings that are so far up it appears it would be almost impossible to climb to them. However, some of them have rock drawings that are visible from the plane. If I remember correctlynit was the early 80s when they put a stop to flying below the rim.

I can’t remember the name but a verified archeologists for the Smithsonian did in fact find the place in the Grand Canyon. What information he brought back, sounded so far fetched that he wasn’t believed. Kincade was hired outside the Smithsonian to venture out and verify the findings. He wasn’t directly employed by the Smithsonian so that’s how they could deny it. Still lying on their part. But that’s where plausible deniability comes in to discredit Kincade and have time to remove everything worth value and cover story the rest. It must have been some treasure and artifacts to be talked about this long after. Not to mention still literally being guarded and no go zones. The thing with lies is the holes in the stories and that makes people question all the more. Funny how the truth doesn’t get that kind of attention right?

@DAGBY the guy I can’t remember the name of was late 1800’s.

DAGBY

G.E. Kinkaid was the archeologist who discovered it in 1901
When the Smithsonian was notified, a military detachment was deployed to secure the area while artifacts were removed. Large carved statues still remain unable to remove them as they were carved into the cave system itself.

What about the alien city, hidden inside the canyon?

Where’s Waldo

The Grand Canyon was not a could not have been made over the time span stated. The sides would not be sheer as they are.
Read In The Beginning by Walt Brown. He explains there was a Grand Lake that covered corners of 4 states. The water line is still there. The lake breached and carved that canyon quickly. Mostly cutting through soft sediments post great flood. Which is what we see shows. Not slow trickle of that wimpy river that now lay at the bottom.

You are correct. This clearly makes more sense in every way, but people will always reject this obvious answer because it could force them to acknowledge where that water came from. Mt Saint Helens carved a 600 ft deep canyon into bedrock demonstrating this phenomenon on a smaller scale. Glen Canyon dam in 1983 is another example.

And this is the number one reason you cannot fly drones in the national parks and certain places in the Grand Canyon you're not allowed to go so they can keep their secrets to their self and we can be treated like mushrooms
