Gallipoli’s debut EP, On Vodno, mixed by Peter Katis (The National, Kurt Vile, The Swell Season) includes the songs "Pick Me Up Tonight," "Blurry Mess," "Poets," and "My, My." The songs performed well, appearing on several American TV shows, "Station 19" and "Night Sky," as well as appearing on several Spotify indie folk playlists such as “Folk & Friends”.
Their recent single, "St. Clements," continues to explore their modern indie folk and atmospheric style as we follow a young couple on a date as they wander around an old city.
Blurry Mess
Gallipoli Lyrics

Maybe you just wanna be left alone
Fumble through our keys on the pavement
But you don't wanna be the one to say it
Come on do it now
There's something about the way I'm gonna have to say it
There's something about the way I'm gonna have to say this
I'll see you in the morning
When you fall asleep
I'll make a cup of coffee
But you've made the tea
It's all just one big blurry mess
But I'll see you, see you
In the morning
Got myself a blanket on the sofa bed
But pillow's sitting on the other side of your head
Gotta go I gotta go and get it
But I don't wanna be the one to say it
Come on do it now
There's something about the way I wanna go and say it
There's something about the way I'm gonna have to say it
I'll see you in the morning
When you fall asleep
I'll make a cup of coffee
But you've made the tea
It's all just one big blurry mess
But I'll see you, see you
In the morning
Do you want out
You keep me around
This silence is killing me
Go on shout it out now
Make your mind up
Are you pulling the plug
Because, it's all down, down, down
It's all down
It's all just one big blurry mess
But I'll see you, see you
In the morning
The opening lines of the song describe a common modern-day scene of a person walking down the street engrossed in their phone and not wanting to be disturbed or talked to by anyone. The next verse goes on to describe the domestic setting of a sofa bed where the singer spends time with their partner, but they are aware of the communication breakdown between them. The chorus serves as a reminder to the listener that no matter how confusing life can get, the singer will still see their partner in the morning.
The song explores the idea of a tumultuous relationship where there is confusion and miscommunication between the two partners. The singer seems to be aware that things in the relationship are falling apart but they are hesitant to confront their partner about it. There is a sense of loneliness and heartbreak that pervades throughout the song as the singer tries to make sense of their feelings.

It's that kind of song that you listen to while walking in a chilly, slightly foggy night alone in the park and just reminisce about someone or something, chuckling here and there bc of the memories that flood your mind. Glad I found this song. Great job guys.

This song popped on my Spotify - in almost those conditions. Perfectly put. I’m going to walk a little bit longer, wondering how’d I end up here in life.
