Cross Of Lorraine
Gallows Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

You could never understand what it took for me to be your man.
At home in the ice and pines, black nights filled with struggled sights.
Some things are better left unsaid, if that were true, then I'd be dead.
More sad nights at the hospital, fever swarming around my collarbone.

Always waiting for the death of the death of love.
Get up, get up. You know it's true.
Always waiting for the death.

Old ghosts pushing us apart, anthrax rays and a heavy heart.
Every chime like an iron voice, never seemed like I has a choice.
Bad tattoos and my pocketknife, trophies from my former life.
She wreaths her skull so psychically there's no more secrets in between.

Always waiting for the death of the death of love.
Get up, get up. You know it's true.
Always waiting for the death of the death of love.
Get up, get up. You know it's true.
Always waiting for the death of the death of love.
Always waiting for the death.
Always waiting for the death.

Always waiting for the death of the death.
Always waiting for the death of the death of love.

The first Gallows album changed my life. Frank is one of the best frontmen of all time. Saw them a couple of years back opening for the Cancer Bats. Felt sorry because their short set rocked the place and the Bats had a hard time after. Best show I had seen! I Just saw the Gallows again with Wade out front. Another small venue, the new best show I've seen! Wade doesn't fill Franks shoes, he brings his own damn boots! New album, new feel still rocks so hard. Great new lyrics and delivery as well!

I love the feelings coming off of the lyrics. I know the new singer tried hard to play his role as the substitute for their former vocalist, still I got this psychotic vibe off them. My friend who happens to be my childhood crush currently works at hospital so yeah this song sounds like the stories from her nightshifts.

I like this, I'm not always a fan of the metal singing, sometimes it's just to much screaming and growling, but I can actually understand this guy, he strikes an excellent balance of growl and singing if that makes any sense?

Addicted to this tune, something about the riffs, sentiment & vox. I miss Frank but love the new animal that Gallows have become w/ Wade.
