Light
Ganga Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Sing a song about a river
That runs all the way out into the sea
Let the song tell
what you probably forgot
can never be real
Tell the story, shine the light
We're way too far apart
There's a river in my heart
There's a stillness to be heard
We are way to far apart
Let the still whisper rule
Let the still whisper rule
Let the world in
Let the people come
Let the bad things change
Let the still whisper of the trees
Tilt your heart with the story
you believe to be the truth
Tell the story shine the light
Sail away into the night
We are way to far apart
Tell the story shine the light
Sail away into the night
We are way to far apart
Let the still whisper rule
Let the still whisper rule
Let the still whisper rule
Tell the story shine the light
We are way too far apart
Let the still whisper rule
We are way too far apart
We are way too far apart
Let the still whisper rule
Tell the story shine the light
Let the still whisper rule
We are way too far apart
We are way too far apart
Let the still whisper rule
Let the still whisper rule
Tell the story shine the light
The song "Light" by Ganga is a beautifully poetic and introspective piece that reflects on the distance between people and the search for connection. The opening lines invite the listener to take a break from the busyness of life and sit in the shade, creating a peaceful and reflective atmosphere. As the song progresses, we dive deeper into the lyrics, the recurring theme of a river serving as a metaphor for the journey of life. The songwriter suggests that we sing about this river, which flows all the way out into the sea, as a way to reconnect with our past, and remember what might have been forgotten. The river serves as a guide, a source of inspiration, and a reminder that some things can never be truly forgotten.
The lyrics speak to the distance that can sometimes exist between people, and how difficult it can be to bridge that divide. The line "We're way too far apart/There's a river in my heart" is a poignant representation of this idea. The river, in this context, serves as a physical representation of the emotional distance that too often separates us from others. The stillness that is mentioned can be interpreted as the quiet moments that exist between us, moments that we often fail to notice or appreciate.
Overall, "Light" is a song that encourages us to take a step back from our daily lives, to connect with our environment and ourselves, and to perhaps reconsider the distance we allow to exist between ourselves and others. It is a beautifully written and performed song that will resonate deeply with anyone who has ever felt disconnected from the world around them.
