1) Triple threat. Many have claimed to possess it, yet finding an artist who has the ability to sing, dance and act is both hard to come by and an even harder quality to obtain. Enter: Gavin Turek. An unlikely character, Gavin turns out to be not at all what she seems. Behind the sweet monotone of her voice, innocent eyes and cascading curls, lies a talented artist. One who is in every sense a triple threat.
The L.A. native known for her incredible voice, is also an experienced dancer, actress, and spokes person for the world renowned make up brand Rimmel London. The Czechoslovakian African beauty began singing at a young age; writing her first song at the age of six.
Gavin's shows promise to be even better then her music. After spending time learning the rich culture and traditional dances of Ghana and India, Gavin took what she learned and incorporated it into her live shows. "The more shows I do, the more I will try to leave little remnants of the places I've been."
Gavin's career has just begun and is sure to be a successful one. Gavin will be releasing her music, an album that incorporates Indie, Pop, and Electronica through newly founded Sonata Cantata Records from Los Angeles, CA which was started by former EVE 6 and Monsters Are Waiting guitarist Jon Siebels. She will release her laptop remix project of her favorite RATATAT songs and if her single "Ring it" is any indication of what lies in store for the rest of the album, her fans are sure to be satisfied. The modest Gavin Turek wrapped up our Venice beach interview by saying, " I never took myself seriously, and I don't know that I still do."

Stupid
Gavin Lyrics

Always ends in a sappy sob story
I've had just enough
Of this stupid game we like to call love
I am going numb
At the thought of falling for someone who doesn't want me
I am giving up
Love is off the table cause I've ran out of luck
Stupid Teenage Love
Is happy ever after way too much to ask for
I've had just enough
Reading the pages of my Stupid Teenage Love Story
Stupid Teenage Love
Could be the worst thing that has ever happened
I've had just enough
Of putting on my fake smile and acting like I'm in love with him
I am giving up
The thought of getting some stupid teenager luck
Can you just shut up
Love is an illusion and you take it like a drug
I'm so tired of seeing
Stupid Teenage Love
Is happy ever after way too much to ask for
I've had just enough
Reading the pages of my Stupid Teenage Love Story

In Gavin's song "Stupid," the lyrics delve into the experiences and frustrations of teenage love. The song begins by expressing how teenage love always seems to end in a heartbreaking and sentimental manner, leading the singer to feel fed up with this game called love. The singer has reached a point of emotional numbness after repeatedly falling for someone who does not reciprocate their feelings, leading them to give up on love altogether.
The lyrics convey the singer's weariness, emphasizing that love appears to be elusive and out of their control. They express their exhaustion from witnessing the repetitive cycle of stupid teenage love, where happy endings seem unattainable. The singer reflects on their personal experiences, highlighting the downsides of pretending to be in love and wearing a fake smile. They question whether finding true happiness in love is too much to ask for, contemplating if the concept of a fairytale-like happy ever after is just a fantasy.
Overall, the song offers a raw and relatable perspective on the frustrations and challenges of teenage love, capturing the emotions of disappointment, resignation, and longing.
