And my heart was beating fast.
I began to lose control,
I began to lose control.
I didn't mean to hurt you.
I'm sorry that I made you cry.
Oh no, I didn't mean to hurt you.
I'm just a jealous guy.
I was feeling insecure you might not love me anymore.
I was shivering inside,
I was shivering inside.
I didn't mean...
I was trying to catch your eyes,
though that you was trying to hide.
I was swallowing my pain,
I was swallowing my pain.
I didn't mean...
Gavin DeGraw's song "Jealous Guy" is a cover of a song written by John Lennon in 1971. The song describes the feelings of jealousy that the singer experiences in his relationship. He is haunted by his past, and his insecurities make him fear that his partner might not love him anymore. The lyrics, "I was dreaming of the past, and my heart was beating fast," indicate that the singer is haunted by memories of a past relationship, which make him feel insecure and jealous.
The singer acknowledges that his jealousy is causing pain to his partner and apologizes, "Oh no, I didn't mean to hurt you. I'm sorry that I made you cry. I'm just a jealous guy." The lyrics portray the internal struggle of the singer, who is ashamed of his behavior but unable to control his jealousy. He realizes that his jealousy is unfounded, and he is swallowing his pain, hoping that his partner will not leave him.
Overall, the song is a powerful portrayal of the destructive effects of jealousy in relationships. The singer's feelings of jealousy are so strong that he is unable to control them, even though he knows that he is hurting the person he loves. The lyrics are heartfelt, and the melody perfectly captures the emotions described.
