Emerald City
Gavn! Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Momma, I'll be back by tomorrow
Not packing my bags 'cause I'll stay for the long haul
You don't gotta hold back tears 'cause my flights here
And you don't gotta cry no more 'cause I'm right here

I've been away for too damn long
Don't wanna be missed every-time I'm gone
My heart's close to home, but it's still so far

I wanna get home to the Emerald City
I miss the rain and it sounds so pretty
I don't care, I love my city, Emerald, emerald
I wanna be back where the Riverside ends
I hate to admit it, but I miss my friends
I don't care 'cause I love my city Emerald, emerald

So I go up and down then all around town just driving
Everything's safe and sound I'm in the background deciding
If I can keep up with this lifestyle, I'm too deep in
And I can't turn back

I've been away for too damn long
Don't wanna be missed every-time I'm gone
My heart's close to home, but it's still so far

I wanna get home to the Emerald City
I miss the rain and it sounds so pretty
I don't care, I love my city
Emerald, Emerald
I wanna be back where the Riverside ends
I hate to admit it, but I miss my friends
I don't care, I love my city
Emerald, Emerald

@lokin4luv123

Gavn let me tell you that this song has been in repeat since I first discovered it on tiktok and it is exactly what I'm going through right now, you see I moved 900 miles from home last year to start my life kinda over sober and it's now been a year, and this song makes me miss my home, family, friends. But also reminds me why I took this journey. I can't turn back now after living my life sober and made a new 'family' down here but this also made me really realize i want and need to visit home. Thank you so much for this beautiful gem of a song. It's absolutely beautiful

@throughamyseyes2548
